MY opinion: The almost 1600 pardons Mr. Trump issued were all due to convictions of JAN6 participants in the DC Federal Court. Judges of both DEM and Repub appointments spent long hard hours on these cases only for them to go POOF! upon January 20, 2025 -- the first day of his second term.

These are the judges with whom Trump will have to deal with all his convoluted-theory orders and proclamations for the next 4 years.

Fair comment.

I was eligible for the VietNam draft right until the lottery system started. The first 195 birthdates were called up, and I was around 300.

You can tell that this is a Maggot as he immediately blames biden for his actions as an excuse for Trump's deals.! and I am by no means a biden fan either!

Non violent crimes, the penalties were too harsh.

Trump was right again.

Just like there are posters here for whom Trump can do no wrong.

If he danced naked in the Senate, they would still find a rationalization for it.

I guess the next step is to prosecute the police defending the Capitol that day.

Well, the killing of Ashli Babbitt was obviously a disgrace.

Michael Byrd should have been prosecuted.

I understand the matter is now in the civil courts and our great president Donald Trump has taken a close interest and said a settlement with the Babbitt family should be reached.

I suppose you condone the state killing an unarmed woman?

1000's of people get their felony plead down to a misdemeanor every month in red states. Why should I care about 1 pardon.

US to pay $5m to family of 6 January rioter Ashli Babbitt
20 May 2025

Mr Byrd (who fired the shot) previously defended the move to fire his gun, saying the group of lawmakers and security "were essentially trapped" and had "no way to retreat".

In August 2021, a Capitol Police review found that Mr Byrd's decision saved lives and was consistent with police training and procedures. A justice department review also found no evidence of any police wrongdoing.

"This is extremely disappointing and I completely disagree with the Department of Justice's decision," Chief Manger said in a statement to staff after learning of the settlement, the Washington Post reported.

"This settlement sends a chilling message to law enforcement officers across our nation - especially those who have a protective mission like ours," he added.

But it seems he was the one who started the attack on the Capitol, from Britannica................................January 6 U.S. Capitol attack, storming of the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, by a mob of supporters of Republican Pres. Donald J. Trump. The attack disrupted a joint session of Congress convened to certify the results of the presidential election of 2020, which Trump had lost to his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden. Because its object was to prevent a legitimate president-elect from assuming office, the attack was widely regarded as an insurrection or attempted coup d’état. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and other law-enforcement agencies also considered it an act of domestic terrorism. For having given a speech in which he rallied supporters to storm the Capitol in a violent attack that threatened the certification of Biden’s victory, Trump was impeached by the Democratic-led House of Representatives for “incitement of insurrection” (he was subsequently acquitted by the Senate)..............................https://www.britannica.com/event/January-6-U-S-Capitol-attack

Perhaps you've heard.... criticisms are quite often well founded.

If they had strip searched her... they would know she was unarmed?  Did that happen?

The problem in politics is that many adopt that hero worship thing, where their candidate can do no wrong. If you stay in the middle, you see what both sides offer and that both sides have problems.

Many gun owners voted for Trump because they feared Harris was going to try and take their guns away, which will never happen, so who gets their votes.

Biden did some good things, just as Trump did before him, and so did all other presidents. And they both did stupid things. Good things, bad things, stupid things.

We used to look at presidents as a moral leader, with integrity, and not someone who cheats on their own wives and is found out, along with being racist, misogynistic, and narcissistic. We lost that long ago. Now we have a choice between one who denied he lost the election, and had people storm the Capitol, where people got hurt, killed and arrested. Then he pardons them.

Taking one side blind isn't how things get changed for the better. He has the power to change things for the better for the average American, but will he? Biden didn't solve the inflation problem, and Trump hasn't either. A useless wall, money that could have gone towards medical for people who can't afford it. It seems, like this here, that no matter what he does wrong, people will still believe in him, but will that failure continue or will he be held accountable?

Another 24 hours has passed and like clockwork the leftists can be counted on for another Trump hater thread.  Complete with comments about January 6th.

That’s all they have.

And ignore their own superior in numbers, confirmed accounts of their own violence.

Despite their predictions that “Trump will never be in the White House again “.

Losing the election has had an effect on the left’s mental health that no one could ever have imagined.

Three years and Seven months is a long time to suffer.  I recommend professional help to ease the pain of your condition.

BTW, Yahoo?  I thought they disappeared in 1999.

For years the Washington Establishment harbored people with a license to steal ! All “so called intellectual elites”, bureaucrats, politicians, legal minds who became dishonest  with their own selfish sense

of entitlements.Everybody is somebody’s village idiot!

And then came the exposer, a political outsider , one who wasn’t part of the war mongers money laundering schemes that

Im very surprised that the OP posted  a political thread without a comment!

That's true. I'm in the middle, not preferring one side or the other. They both have good and bad ideas. I don't like Trump, but if he does his job, I'm okay with him. I just like seeing what others say as some is hero worship and some is valid.

EVERYBODY acts in their own self-interest. That is why there are personal and corporate regulations. 1 person wants to remove all regulation. Or at the very least, all regulation for the wealthy. If you want a regime which supports a licence to steal, you got it now.
