He's attended a Thai/English programme school since he was 6 and, although his first language is still English, he is completely fluent in Thai (speaking, reading and writing). He's only 10 now, but I've been told it might be possible once he gets to university age.

To loose visa and deported is overkill IMHO.
I was assaulted and robbed in my condo room by a Thai man weilding a large meat chopper. The condo has no security guard, but their was cctv, which the police had a very clear image of the assailant.
Yeah, the police did come, took lots of photos, viewed the cctv footage, and then?
Nothing!
So what use is cctv if the police can't be bothered to find that man!
It's been well publicized that the account holder's name must match the name registered with the phone number. If they haven't contacted you then you're probably ok.
