Looking for Reliable Contractors in Chiang Mai – Builders, Plumbers, Electricians

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I’m currently planning some renovation work on a townhouse in Chiang Mai, and I’m looking for reliable and fairly priced contractors to help with:

  • Plumbing

  • Electrical work

  • General building/renovation (main job being extending balcony, raising roof, alogn with some kitchen and bathroom work)

If you’ve had good experiences with local tradespeople, I’d really appreciate any recommendations, contact details, or even advice on what to look out for when hiring contractors here.

Thai- and English-speaking workers are both fine . Im basically wanting ones that are ok with coming checking the work and giving a quote, and actually sticking to it.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can point me in the right direction for some of these jobs, cheers

And good luck with that

Haha yeah, I caught the sarcasm , trust me, I’m not expecting smooth sailing. I know renovations and builds here come with their fair share of headaches. Just figured it’s smarter to start with folks people actually recommend, rather than going in totally blind and hoping for the best.

This is one I talked to, and had good references. English man working with Thai laborers. I should have stayed with him as the Thai local builder my ex wife picked out did a lot of stupid things I had to repair later. He travels to the build sites with his team ..........https://www.alanthebuilder.com/

I can strongly recommend Khun Song. I have used him to build two buildings, to renovate and to handle repairs over about 15 years now. He is very reliable and speaks English and Thai. His number is 094 702 0712

A Brit friend of mine had a house built  - - not in CM area, but it can happen - the builder did a terrific job for him so he recommended the guy to a friend... on the 2nd job, the builder was a nightmare, using rotted wood to build an addition... so, just a note to keep an eye open.

There's a company in Chiang Mai called Get Wizzy, has excellent reviews, and think it's a foreign owner.
