At approximately 16:30 on 4th June, Lt. Suriyah Yupum of the Najomtien Police Station in Sattahip, Chonburi received reports of a serious collision involving a big bike and a car on Sukhumvit Road, at the Nong Jab Tao intersection heading towards Pattaya.

Upon arrival at the scene, alongside rescue workers from the Sawang Rojanathammasathan Sattahip Foundation, they discovered a heavily damaged Ducati motorcycle, registered in Bangkok.

The rider, Mr. Nivan, 39, had suffered abrasions and a severely fractured right thigh. He was promptly transported to a local hospital.

Nearby, a green Volvo car registered in Rayong, driven by Mr. Mongkol, 68, also showed significant damage. Initial inquiries indicated that the car had changed lanes without noticing the motorcycle, leading to the collision.

Police documented the scene and will question both the injured motorcyclist and the car driver for further legal proceedings.

Notably, two students from Sattahip Technical College arrived at the scene, assisting by directing traffic to prevent further accidents.

Their prompt actions were praised by onlookers and rescue personnel for contributing positively to the community.

Damn Thai´s that drive like amoeba´s. Hopefully it will be the Thai drivers insurance, if exists, that will pay for his hospital. In all other cases, just waiting for the next GoFundMe page.

That's one kick asse rear tyre on that bike.  Ducati Diavel maybe.

Just proves, you can be a safe rider but some drivers either don't see you or don't give a stuff.

Hopefully the rider has proper licence so the authorities don't use that to prosecute him... although if he wasn't in the country etc etc.

Hospital costs are likely to be huge, maybe the driver will be held responsible.  Not holding my breath on that occurring.

It could also be that the speed of the oncoming bike surprises them....I was once similarly shocked by a tuk-tuk, 3 wheeled vehicle, which I am used to being slow moving taxi vehicles... this was actually a souped up one being driven fast by some daft farangs, that I cut in front of.

That too is quite a possibility.  Can cause certain muscles to clamp up when taken by surprise.

Very confused.  Damage to FRONT right side of vehicle!  How in the world would the driver not have noticed the bike immediately in front of him, on his driving side of the vehicle?

Stupid stuff like this happens all over the world, I'm not going to Thai-bash on this.  I'm glad he'll be okay.

I don't know who was at fault, but the guy with a ton of steel and seatbelts seems to be in better shape than the guy on the scooter.

Another data point.
