Students would never figure out, to ask someone 20 yrs old to buy it for them.  I drank a lot of beer, wine & spirits from state controlled vendors, but never bought it.

Getting beer from local bar or other bar, known to serve minors was never a problem.

But when they're caught, they lose their license, so most won't take that chance. At least in the US

So glad we live in a perfect world, and nobody violates any laws :cheesy:

Please tell what world you live in ?

Next query ... why are there police, lawyers, courts & prisons ?

To arrest those who break the laws, especially regarding selling alcohol to minors.

Give it a rest ... Drunkard is a bit strong.   Besides, too poor to become a drunkard.  Need to prioritize ones finances, even at early teens age.

Just enjoyed some wine & a doobie at lunch & beyond.  Maybe a 6 pack and a doobie, after school some days.

Party with the gals on weekends.   I believe it's called enjoying life, at any age 😎

Live with Your Choices ... Rock On.

S D & RR, as you never never know if you'll wake up tomorrow.

And those who start out young getting drunk and using drugs, are a lot more likely to develop a crutch that will last a lifetime. Alcoholics don't just start when they're in their middle ages. Of course, most of us try things when we're young, but we do see what happens to many when we get older. Will power isn't in everyone's thinking. Keeping children away from drinking as long as possible is always a good idea. A good friend now has dementia from falling and hitting his head after getting drunk. Something he started as a pre teen and never stopped. I was there with him when we started, but will power and being into health and working out kept me away from most of it. Some get addicted early easily, and never stop.

The big life crises strikes again.

No alchol for sale when I need one. Though life

I like this idea.

Why the hell are you getting thumbs down on your comment, just weird

Maybe because drunk driving kills thousands of people every year?

Another stupid comment from Freddy.

Is that all you put in your fridge, alcohol?

I can see it's going to be another bloody day getting annoyed and attacked by Freddy on every comment I make.

I don't make any stupid comments, but this one from you further proves just how many you make. You agree with his comment,  "have a fridge in his car, hold a dozen beers", meaning it's okay to drink while driving? He didn't say for food. I see that you don't have the capacity for future thinking, but my comment stands, and is 100% correct. You set yourself up for comments because you're the one making very stupid replies all day long.

His reference to the number of beers is telling us all the size of his fridge.

Where did he say he puts these beers in his car fridge and drinks while driving?

Where is your mind, its always in the gutter.

Please Freddy, get a hobby, stop annoying us all.

Actually, my mind thinks of the safety of others. If you followed your username, you might think the same. You know what he was referring to, and I know why you commented the way you did. We aren't children here that can be fooled. Motives for people are easily read when they're always acting the same way. Check the thumbs down, as I'm not the only one who understands why he made that comment.

It's definitely illogical.

Why is buying a beer at 711 at 1:45pm OK but at 2:15pm illegal?

Why is smoking tobacco and cannabis legal but a vape is illegal?

Why is buying a lottery ticket legal but betting on a football match illegal?

Why are ST rooms in Pattaya bars allowed, but not in BKK bars?

It's all very strange.

Why have  Wine Connection stopped their online business while all the others are still happily taking orders and shipping?

(I know the answer to that one).

I haven't read through the thread so probably mentioned.

No alcohol at gas stations (7/11 etc).

I have car so how far to the next watering hole?

You're assuming those, most who indulge earlier have a problem with it.  I know many that didn't, inclusive, and many that did.  Most I know, as they got older, and needed to be more responsible, inclusive, indulged less and less.

Besides, being an alky is quite expensive, and low priority for me to spend money on, when money is tight.

Does seem to be pushed, in media, and seems to be a requirement for some in social settings.  I wasn't a fan of be social, as simply too busy.   Really had no time to be an alky, or want the hangover the next day if over indulging.   Had better, more important, more enjoyable things to do than sit around and drink alcohol as a hobby or habit.

I didn't say most. But the earlier you indulge, especially without that will power some don't have, with the brain not being developed, the higher chance  it'll become a permanent habit, as witnessed by how many alcoholics there are, including those in denial. Some people should never try any mind altering things. People who want to get high will find a way, using any method they can think of, including stealing, selling themselves or worse.

Not being developed ... :cheesy:

Who's brain isn't developed when a teen.  Think I started drinking alcohol at 14.  TBH, didn't learn much more needed to exist and prosper in the world at that age.  I still attended school till graduation, but what a waste of time.

Already knew how to fill out a job application, and they weren't teaching anything else I needed.  Chemistry & physics a bit handy, but repeating everything else had no benefit.

On my 3rd job by then, age 14.  At 15, had steady job, at restaurant, and was working about 40 hrs a week, before even eligible for work papers.

The point of the alcohol laws is to let you know who holds power. It has no other purpose.

Then it shows this "who" holding the power is impotent. Available just about anywhere at all hours a mom and pop, the thousands of minimarts in every almost lodge and  guest house, underground drinking spots which were going even during covis "lockdown"

Most laws are about control and or a money grab.  Some are beneficial, to protect people from their own stupidity, helmet laws & traffic laws for example.

Alcohol laws to protect the youngins from themselves, but without enforcement, don't mean much.

If that's the case why is it illegal from 2pm to 5pm and not 11am to 2pm (lunchtime)?

Don't know ask the Thai government

A person's brain isn't fully developed until their mid 20's. I've seen many become alcoholics and addicts that never went away. Quite a difference between a person that constantly drinks alcohol and one that knows moderation. They always pay later.

No laws mean much without enforcement. That's proven here daily.
