Immigration Files Legal Complaint Against Chinese National for Filming Airport Officials

Featured Replies

A little gift in the thai person's pocket to help people in need is a fair deal in my opinion as long as it's not dangerous. They're usually underpaid and such nice people.

Egg on the face can be a terrible thing, but shame and humiliation are two things that can create positive change here, and they are some of the only ways you can actually get through to the officials

    Is it really misleading though.

  • Illegal activities must not be shown on social media....Immigration, if nothing to hide, should not be afraid of such posts, but we all know how it works...so it must stay hidden

After 18 years I have found to shame or humiliate a thai will only bring problems for you, either violent or legal actions, it might be 100% right thing but the repercussions are unforgiving

You naughty, naughty Chinese man! How dare you publicise something that pretty much every adult in Thailand knows "is not true"! 😉

A very stupid thing to do, hope the perp is deported.

Immigration along with the RTP and customs are three of the most corrupt departments in the country, so for them to cry foul because in public they are called out for being corrupt is a bit like a brown bear claiming that it's not brown.

This is so unbelievably silly, so inane, and it absolutely screams of guilt.

Well I have found that it works really well on multiple occasions, and since I don't live in a constant state of fear, I'm not going to avoid taking actions based on what I think might happen.

corruption from very top to very bottom is a way of life in LOS:

some time ago, having visa on arrival status: in one year period I came to Thailand 5 times and the airport passport controller extorted 1000baht or he would not allow me in because he insisted I needed a visa after 4 arrivals per year.

LAter contacted Thai embassy and was told visa was not required..

I was hauled to a back office in Swampy and questioned by 3 immigration officers because of multiple visa exempt entries. They asked if I had a Thai wife. I said no a Thai wife would take all my money….they just laughed and said  go on … you’re ok .

Not if you do not use it and just ignore it and quotes from it.
