Health Thailand Battles Covid Surge with 12,000 Cases in a Single Day

Thailand is in the grip of a new Covid-19 wave as over 12,000 people tested positive on Friday, as confirmed by the Department of Disease Control.

 

This alarming increase includes three unfortunate fatalities, underscoring the significant health challenges the country faces. Authorities announced on Saturday morning that the precise tally reached 12,181, rocketing the total confirmed cases to a staggering 471,781.

 

The fresh data also raised the nation's death toll to 151, driven by the addition of three more victims. These troubling figures highlight the rapid spread of the virus in various regions. Health officials are keenly focusing on prevention measures, urging citizens to maintain social distancing, adhere to hygiene protocols, and get vaccinated.

 

Bangkok remains the epicentre of the surge, with a record 3,955 new infections reported. Following closely are other provinces, with Chiang Mai registering 533 cases, Nakhon Ratchasima reporting 448, Chon Buri with 417 new cases, and Nonthaburi adding 264 to its count. These areas are now prioritising targeted testing and isolation to curtail further spread.

 

The government is deploying extensive resources to manage this health crisis and is actively promoting compliance with public health mandates. There is also a push to intensify vaccination efforts across provinces, particularly in densely populated urban areas.

 

Citizens are being reminded of the importance of avoiding crowded spaces and wearing masks to protect themselves and others.

No stopping the spread. It's the nature of the virus. Rapid spread. Natural herd immunity will be achieved and the surge will die down until the next sub-variant comes along. The fact of the matter is it is and has been for years for the vast majority a non-severe viral infection.

If they reported the numbers of people who right at this moment are suffering from viral colds, the numbers who be staggering.

Really? All my wifes family, cousins, aunties, uncles etc spread out in many provinces have Covid with one Auntie in buriram hospitalised and in critical condition.

I’m in Europe right now, doing the usual tourist stuff amid big summer crowds. No face masks anywhere whatsoever, no Covid hysteria. You have to wonder why It’s just Thailand that’s so vulnerable to this disease.

Fascinating how I'm not hearing anybody speak about it nor am I hearing about anybody catching it. Other than in the news. I won't be wearing a mask anytime soon and I will not be getting any more covid vaccines. Something like the Bubonic plague would have to come along for me to get another vaccine, and the only reason I got the first two was so that I was able to travel. I depend upon my immune system which remains quite strong due to plenty of exercise a good diet some very beneficial herbal supplements and my daily sense of fulfillment. 

 

The variants will likely continue and by all accounts it appears to me to be getting weaker and weaker, and more and more feeble. Only those at very high risk seem to be harmed by it, so from my point of view it's a big nothing burger.

Of course it originated from outside Thailand and is considered a Farang disease. If it gets worse I would not be surprised if all Farang be required to provide proof of a vaccine shot at immigration. Considering the side effects of the vaccine I will obtain a medical exemption certificate if necessary. Meanwhile I am wearing a mask again.

sorry for your loss, but she didn 't die of covid, even the covid test is fake, more likely the vaccine killed her, or other related parties, don't believe what they tell you, the truth is blocked almost everywhere

Don't you remember the good old days when you felt sick, and you just stayed home, took a couple of pain killers, rested, drank plenty of liquids and assumed it was the seasonal flu.  And if you felt bad enough, THEN you saw a doctor who then more than likely would tell you that you had the flu and to go home an rest, take some pain killers, and drink plenty of liquids. And a few days later you felt fine.  Unless you didn't then you returned to the doctor.  

Now?  You take Covid tests.  Why not "Flu tests" or "Common Cold tests" or "You probably drank too much last night tests."  
I seriously wonder who much money the Thai Health Department spends on Covid tests.

Big money in Covid testing.  I wonder why they haven't convinced the Health Department to test for colds and flu too, even though those aliments have essentially the same set of symptoms.  ฿฿฿Cha-Ching฿฿฿

I remember very well when we were told by "Experts" like Fauci that the unvaccinated caused Covid mutations raising the risks of Covid becoming deadlier.  Anyone with a background in biology knew that was a boldface lie, yet they ran with it.  It was actually 180 degree from the truth with the reality being that vaccines caused vaccine-induced antigenic drift and immune escape.  It's well know in immunology that viruses do mutate, become more infectious and LESS deadly over time.  But they went for broke and attempted to scare the public into taking shots based on the lie that "the unvaxxed caused deadly mutations."  

Then you wonder why inquisitive people no longer trust anything coming out of the mouths of government "experts."
Why?  "Experts" = "Liars" = "Charlatans" 

Nothing damaged the reputation of science like guys like Tony "I am the Science" Fauci.

I don't know if it's "Covid", but something similar is happening with me. A sister-in-law sick, then her two kids, and now my wife.

They are all vaxxed, but I am not and am fine.

I definitely had it a couple of weeks ago. Been going through my school like a dose of salts. Not that bad but had a dry cough for a few days. 1st two it just went on and on especially during the night. Settled down but the old lungs weren't feeling that flash for a good week. Extreme tiredness was something else but only for a few days.
