June 23, 2025Jun 23 Hi for 1 yr extension of non-O Retirement visa (Chiang Mai) does anybody know if a copy of the signed lease agreement is accepted, or must it be the original? Because I do not have the original, and the rental company does not have the original, they put it on their system (all digitised). Thanks
June 23, 2025Jun 23 Popular Post Think you will be fine with copy. For my extension retirement CW the io looked at first page of lease photocopy and didn't appear overly interested. Do you have a TM30. That would be handy.

I do my extensions (retirement) at CW. I provide a 12 month lease however never has full 12 months remaining. In addition I can't recall them even taking a look at it. Since changes to TM30.. I also do one just prior to extension. Probably don't need to
June 25, 2025Jun 25 I'm not a legal expert on Thai Immigration, but my experience (20+ years) has been that they require the original of any document they require, not a copy.

I had to look up "CW Immigration," and found out it was Chaeng Wattana Immigration office, the one, so it seems, is used by most foreigners in Bangkok. I've never lived in Bangkok, so I have never been there. I have dealt with Thai immigration offices, first in Koh Samui, then Udon Thani, and now in Phetchabun. Both of them require original documents, including your passport, bank documents, Blue Book, and your IDs. Maybe CW's requirements are different. I have seen on these forums that many of the Immigration Offices have different requirements.
June 26, 2025Jun 26 I only have 6-month lease agreements, and have only had about 4-5 months left of the leases when I extended my "retirement" visa. No problems at Immigration.
