Another Thai appologist, 11 to 1 is fair?

i didn't say it was "fair" but almost certainly justified.

If life was fair, well, I'd be King then, wouldn't I?

Even if the police apprehend the 10 guys, what will be the outcome?

A slap on wrist and don't do it again?

It all depends on who knows who or if anybody higher up takes an interest.

It could be that the Swede is persuaded that it was all a big mistake and what nice people the thugs really are and wouldn't it be great if they all made up so he can continue banging his girlfriend who loves him so much.

So what did he do? Cheated on her?

Apparently, so I hear elsewhere. She must be a one man type of girl.

“I don’t know who those men were or why they attacked me,” the victim said, visibly distressed and exhausted. “I was completely defenceless. I came here to relax, not to be beaten in the middle of the street.”

Guys who have lived here for a long time, you are just blind. Pattaya has changed after Covid. Thais in Pattaya are just full of hatred towards foreigners (most likely it is either because of stress before the Covid fuss or out of anger that they did not earn enough money). They need any small reason to pounce on a foreigner with their fists in a crowd.

There was a poll recently about how safe Pattaya is. Opinions were divided 50/50. I think the Swedish man from the video could be the guy who claimed that Pattaya is safe. Ahaha.

Do an experiment: go up to a group of motorcycle taxi drivers in Pattaya, show one the middle finger, a second later they will pounce on you with fists.

Normal people first tried to figure out what the problem was. Maybe you were wrong, maybe you are crazy. If not, they would show you the middle fingers in response and kick you out, but they would not beat you. I'm not exactly sure, but there is nothing illegal/criminal about the middle finger. But the Thais in Pattaya are simply seething with hatred towards foreigners.

In the recent news about beatings of foreigners by Thais in Pattaya, there was not a single case where attacks by Thais were justified! In most cases, you could just send him away.

Also, the gangster criminal subculture is very widespread among Thai schoolchildren and teenagers now. They are grouped and divided into gangs. They like live a criminal life, thinking it's cool. As I understand this is about all Thailand now. This was the case in the early 90s in post-Soviet countries. And in the 70s in Tatarstan in the USSR. Tatarstan is basically the same Asia. And the processes that were there are damn similar to what is happening in Pattaya now.

Basically, the good news is that the blind boomers are get punched. Or maybe all the smart boomers have already left for the Philippines, and the blind fools are left here?!

How valid is this experiment in proving anything?

Why would you do something stupid like that?

When I came to Thailand about 7-8 years ago, I was constantly told about how Thais treat drunk tourists and hooligans - Thais try not to conflict anyway because they think that a foreigner is behaving badly or is aggressive because he is a complete fool and does not realize this from a Buddhist point of view on life. A Thai, being a Buddhist, is above this and considers it low to stoop to his level and therefore never responds, does not start a conflict or consider it rude. Now these memories are funny in Pattaya. 🤣

There are some happy drunks, so alcohol can theoretically be a good drug of choice for partying.

But the problem is alcohol can make some people bring repressed anger to the surface and act aggressively.

Maybe the TAT should teach this to security guards in bars.

It's nothing "personal". It's the drug having nefarious effects on people.

And they should be subdued by police in a proper manner, not gangbanged by thugs.

People in tourist zones with a million bars need to be educated about alcohol.

The types of thugs who 'go in and attack' like this are very far removed from any Buddhist ideology...

The juxtaposition between Buddhism and some of the behavior we see in Thailand is extreme - such characters are not the the types to be practicing any form of Buddhism or have any such points of views on life - they are just thugs.

In Pattaya now many Thais (I think the majority) take the side of these bandits. They are simply confused and the bandits take advantage of this and crap their brains. But I have a question: are these Thais in Pattaya really Buddhists? If so, maybe there is something wrong with their Buddhism? And then there are these latest scandals with monks in the news. And how many cases was hidden so as not to "lose face"?!

I'm afraid that the local Thais and maybe the police are OK with this...

But for the police here it is normal when they let things flow to a certain point, and then suddenly intervene and sort things out in one fell swoop. As happened with the Kuwaiti teenage racers not so long ago. I really hope that the police will deal with the criminal gangs, of which there are a lot here now, harshly and in one go.

These thugs, but also a lot of Thai's are no more Buddhist than I and many like me are Christian...       The assumption that 'all Thai's' follow their religion and its philosophical elements is flawed...  Thai's are just 'people' like any of us...   some believing in their faith, others not..

I been there on 15 different trips over the years.  I have had a few hotel billing/theft issues and even had a very good interaction with the old TAT police who I then tipped enough for them to get a good lunch.   Now as far as the Thais kicking, I will bet my Tae Kwon Do foot work will match all the individual skinny punk kids.  granted a gang is a challenge.  So you focus on one at a time, side thrust kick to the leg/knee area.

So she called her brothers maybe, and they brought along a few friends for the fun of it.

This is an ugly image for the town.

Thai Buddhism is not the same as Buddhism. So anything goes and make merit afterwards... So being a Thai Buddhist has no meaning for social behavior.

There seems to be a lot more drugs being caught by police than previously in Thailand. Perhaps this has added to the hostility and quick r

Ten on one? Par for the course for certain Thai males. No honour or balls to take on a man one on one. As for Pattaya, just another day among the nation’s finest.
