Actually the healthiest bread to buy and readily available in Thailand is SOUR DOUGH bread.   Some PURE WHOlE GRAIN breads are okay and can be healthy too.

Ok .

Where can I buy it ?

In America what we call bread can't even be considered food in parts of Europe. See, here in America, it's not so much the gluten as what we've done to the grain About 200 years ago, we start

So American behavior is not because that they are Lucifers choosen one but ..... it's the bread.

You can google "sourdough bread sold in (where you reside)"  Bangkok has a number of stores that sell it in loaves.  In some malls there are also shops selling it and even some small stores like in Latgrabang Robinsons Mall sell it by 4 slices for 60 baht or 8 slices for 100 baht.  If you buy it by the loaf (some stores also deliver) and you plan to freeze any of it, ask that it be sliced before sent to you as it makes it easier when you thaw just what you need.  The Siam shopping area has several bakeries selling loaves.  Villamart sells a sour dough loaf but it is not the crusty and larger sliced loaves that I prefer.  Some restaurants even sell sourdough sandwiches (cheese/fresh tomato) or others.

Dried out stale bread can be dipped in coffee, used for breadcrumbs, bread pudding etc.

I've never found pudding here like we have in europe.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places ?

Well , we're here in Thailand .

What sh-t do you think they put in farmhouse bread, or bread from Makro/bigc/lotusssss ?

Still edible after 4 -6 days ? Some have this weird after taste too.

Doesn't even taste like bread made in europe.

Cheap Aldi bread is better than this Thai bread.

I buy 19 whole grain bread from Makro once a week. Tastes great.

Most bread in the US has too many ingredients.  But fewer ingredients means shorter shelf life.  In my old neighborhood few actual bakeries were around.  Only real option was to buy the brand name breads from the usual stores.  In CNX I usually go to Miyazaki and St Etoile bakeries  which are located in the major malls for baked goods.

Kind hard to regulate when Trump had doge dismantle critical function by stripping away staffing.

beside the DOGE and Elon, cabinet members required only riches - funny hearings before Congress as they show their ignorance!

Obvious they were corrupt or very inefficient in their job, since the poisonous food supply was there before Trump was president.

It will always be Trumps fault with the deranged folks.

Bringing Trump into the conversation, is simply proof, that ultra processed for is healthy for you.  Trump being 79 years old and seemingly only exists on junk food :cheesy:

I never said that the standards for bread or anything other food ingredients  was trumps fault did I? No I didn't but your trying to inject yourself as if you have any relevance.

What I replied to was another poster claiming there needed to be more regulators. Kinda hard to regulate anything when an a$$hat goes thru and slashes and burns all govt agencies without any true understanding  of their duties.

Go back to sleep now. Your done on this with me

Apparently you didn't understand my post.   Cut staffing that obviously, were not doing a very good job, since the poison is already in the food supply.   Are you awake now 😎

And yea, with you and the rest of the deranged folks, everything was, is, and will be, Trump's fault.

Yea, I'm done with you also.

the bad foods have been around since the 1920's and just got worse from there - that is why el presidente is on drugs to keep the weight down! as too many Mikey D sandwiches.

You post moronic comments. The staffing doesn't set the regulations so don't act like you are knowledgeable because your not.

I stand but what I did wrote not your gaslighting the comments or trying to deflect  from facts.

The poster claimed they needed more regulators and Trump and doge have been firing them in mass in almost every agency.

You cant have it both ways. Set proper standards and  employee the appropriate amount of staff for regulations.  Stupidity isn't a learned skill but seems to be available in mass with the cultist.

Yes I have seen them , even bought it once.

I always shop in the morning and then

that bread is of the day before, or even 2 days before.

It is small , about 400 gr for around 70 B.

Maybe even more now.

High time I start making my own.

Everybody has choices to make in food, no one is a victim unless they want to be.

I agree with all this.  Never had Aldi bread, but in general the US store-brand sliced breads are terrible, in my experience Safeway is the worst.

One of the things I like about Bkk is there is decent French bread if you look hard enough.  As for the crap they put in it, well . . .

Central Food Hall (Chidlom and Centralworld) have a good selection of bread. Tops  supermarket a smaller but acceptable selection of the same items.
