Isn't a 'pre-existing condition' one which exists when you take out the policy, and not one which develops over the duration of the policy?

  • They just want your money and yes hearing that if there is not sufficient equipment locally or aftercare and yes even the Thias are not covered by their own policy!!

Probably they will say it's an undisclosed pre-existing condition which it is in terms of the premium doesn't take it into account, so you aren't paying enough. Reason for claim denied, declare it

They will look for any excuse not to pay out for any cardiac related problem. You just wasted 15 years of premiums.

To some insurers, a pre-existing condition is anything for which symptoms were present, and a "prudent person" would have sought treatment prior to start of coverage.

Starting treatment prior to coverage is saying, yes, I have a pre-existing condition, do not pay me out.

Or there could be a waiting-period following the start of policy coverage for a disclosed pre-existing condition before coverage for that condition.

There have been some cases of people being denied coverage because the insurance company deemed that they must have had a preexisting condition because it took time to develop.

People have been completely asymptomatic until their claim.  For example a stent required 18 months after starting the policy, an insurer may argue that calcification has occurred over 2 decades and was therefore a preexisting condition.

For example, WrLife have this to say "A patient can have a pre existing condition without knowing this. Any insurance worldwide will consider any pre existing condition even if the insured was not aware of this condition."
