A shocking incident unfolded in Pattaya, as a road worker violently attacked a young delivery rider for mistakenly riding over freshly painted traffic lines. The altercation took place at 6pm on July 1, outside a convenience store on Soi Naklua 12.

The victim, 20-year-old Phattharadanai Phimthong, was returning from a delivery when he encountered "Pat," a 43-year-old road marking contractor. An official complaint has been lodged with Bang Lamung Police Station, where Phattharadanai is pressing charges against his attacker.

Phattharadanai explained, "I didn’t argue or fight back. I know I made a mistake, but I was just trying to deliver water. He could have just spoken to me."

The trouble began around midday when Phattharadanai accidentally rode over wet paint while delivering water. Unaware of his mistake, he returned later, only to be confronted by a furious Pat.

CCTV footage handed to the police captures the moment Pat blocked the road, attacked Phattharadanai, punching him in the face, kneeing him in the chest, and brutally kicking him after he fell.

"I had blood pouring from my mouth," said Phattharadanai. "Other workers had to pull him off me."

Afterwards, the young rider sought medical treatment at Pattaya Hospital for severe chest pain and headaches. He is determined to pursue legal action to the fullest extent.

Bang Lamung Police have gathered statements and are using CCTV evidence as part of their investigation. While Pat's details are recorded, no arrest has been made yet. Phattharadanai insists he will not rest until justice is achieved, stating, "I’m just doing my job. I didn’t deserve to be beaten like that over a bit of paint."

Probably driving through a coned-off area to bypass other traffic, see it here near my area in coned-off work areas too, I would have been clapping and cheering on "Pat".

And what are your thoughts on getting kicked in the head when down?

Not that you deserve it, mind you.

I say they are welcome to try, I hope they succeed. For now I hope the motorcyclist got a lesson in what not to do next time, or maybe if we are all lucky, he'll keep doing it and slam into a heavy piece of equipment and die.

Yup, I now watch and wait for posts where a Thai driver kills himself, then I cheer! It's therapeutic 😉

No mention of the area was coned off, sign posted or barricaded.
