Shopee not avaiable to foreigner

Featured Replies

I used to surf Shopee and hotel staff helped me buy. But since a few days I get blocked "Shopee app not available in your country."

Changing my Play Store address would mean changing my Google address and shifting it out of EU could be bad for my medical insurance etc. You can also only change it once yearly.

The advice using VPN is meaningless. I am already surfing on Thai True phone.

How can I access the Shopee links appearing in Google? I can see the content for a split second and then it's blocked.

I have started logging in to the web page with phone number (Thai) and ditching Google or Facebook log in. It could be a solution. Let's see how long it lasts.

Use the phone app. Change the region in the settings in your phone. Download the app.

I've been using Shopee for 7 years by loging in on a web browser with no problem.

In fact my last purchase arrived 2 days ago.

Can't use a phone app as my Apple ID is associated with Australia

Change to Lazada.

Shoppee in many cases ends up being cheaper than Lazada....and I use both 👍

Makes sense. After all, the only European countries that Shopee operates in are Poland and Spain...

Is your App for Shopee Thailand or Malaysia😉🤫

I know about the immense problems of changing the Google Play region. It is also impossible to fool Google Play by using VPN etc.

Checking Google play on my phone and it is clear that the Shopee App is the Thai Shopee App. The App is restricted by region so there is no solution via Google Play.

Instead you need to use an alternative to Google Play such as Aptoide, which will not prevent you from downloading the Thai version of the App.

Obviously there are security issues when downloading Apps from non- Google Play sites. Only you can make the risk/benefit calculation.

Download the app from apkmirror.com and install it. Or change the country associated with your google account to Thailand.

As has been mentioned, use the website. I have Shopee bookmarked in my Safari SE and have no problem shopping and ordering 👍

I managed to download the app from Playstore but it doesn't help since it crashes for unknown reasons.

Thanks for VPN suggestion, surprisingly it may sometimes help to go from neighboring countries and not straight from my Thai nbr! I havent checked yet if the stores are chosen from KL and I must wait for freight. Prices are in Ringit.

But if I just get a screenshot I can maybe ask Thai person to image search it in their Shopee app.

Laptop is also useful.

It's possible,  but before using the VPN you must delete all data in your playstore app (in android, go to settings > apps > playstore > storage).

I have done it recently.

Well, I don't use shopee but understand the problem with playstore location (been there, done that). I keep my android phone(with Sim for Thai number) located in Thailand and I use an old apple (iPhone) located in America (app store). You don't need a Sim in the apple for it to work - you are only using the platform that is located in a different country (in my case America) I do this for banking purposes because my bank in America would update every year and I needed a playstore/app store located in America. I only use the apple for banking (which only gets turned on 2 or 3 times a month) and my android for everything else. In your case you could use the apple for shopee in Thailand. Should work

Did you know you can get more than one Apple ID?

I always log in with my phone number. No problem

Well if it thinks you’re not in Thailand how do you expect to be able to purchase in Thailand? Nothing wrong with Shopee.

Of course. Not interested in multiple ID"s.

Happy to use the web version of Shopee

I'm amazed by this thread.  Obviously, nobody has ever actually thought to read the help documentation about Google Accounts and different countries.  All you need to do is to register one or more additional payment methods in the countries whose "Play Store" etc., you wish to access.  I simply assumed this before I read the help and before I even knew people were having "problems" concerning "country" and the 12 month thingy.  Does nobody move around to live in other countries and not just stay in one of them any more?  RTFM please.

Using a browser should work. I have no problem accessing the website and logging in from Denmark.

Great if you use android.

Do tell how that will help Apple users
