Hello

I received from USA an hair clipper " Wahl " with a charger

but I wonder if I can charge this hair clipper with this charger , because voltage is not the same, or it's not important

I have an other charger and this one works in Thailand, can I use it for this clipper ? Or  in any case  I must use a converter

thank you

what model Wahl ?

I recently purchased cordless super taper... the charger came with different detachable plate to suit different power outlets around the world...

Maybe the actual charger is not input voltage specific.

I will have a look at mine tonight.

Does it say anything on the charger about input voltage? Most modern chargers are compatible eg  100-240 volts?

yes, it says " input 100/240 v ", so  I think it's ok for Thailand

thanks all of you for your response 😀

My US Walmart Wahl was 110v only and i bouggt a step down transformer as that was way cheaper at the time than a 220v charger

My Wahl clipper charger plug states the input voltage as 100-240v.  Works fine here in Thailand.

Often the chargers will work for dual voltage these days but I suggest only plugging it in if the label on the charger itself confirms it works with both 120/220 volts.

I made this mistake myself once with something I ordered from the US - I did have an inverter but forgot to use it and the damn thing blew up immediately

Inverter? Do you mean 'transformer'?

Ah yes, probably, was a long time ago. AC in - AC out I think so yes, likely a transformer also the thing was heavy - like a transformer.

I think we have the same clipper or almost the same

never used it yet, one question : how do you clean the blades inside ?  just wipe ?

Yes, remove the plastic cutting guides to reveal the blades and just wipe and brush them.

Mine came with a little brush to do this but a cheap toothbrush would be equally suitable.  When they are clean finish by wiping a small film of oil on the blades to help them run smoothly and quietly.

I know haircuts are not expensive here but I bought mine to have the convenience of being able to cut my hair whenever it suited me, without having to visit a shop and perhaps wait to be served.  My other half quickly became adept at cutting my hair and swiftly moved on to doing our children's, too.  The convenience is definitely worth it, and the quality of the Wahl cutter suggests we're going to get a long service life from it.  Enjoy!
