Hi all,

I would like to know if I get a single entry NON-O family visa (90 days), and want to holiday in Australia soon after arrival in Thailand, can I get a re-entry permit on the 90 day NON-O?

Thanks in advance 🙏

You would not have a non-O after you entered, you'd be on your entry stamp then.  And there should be no issue getting a re-entry permit if you want to leave during your 90 day permission to stay.  Just make sure you get everything taken care of to facilitate your extension before you leave, such as opening a bank account if you don't already have one.  That way you can meet the seasoning requirement of money in the bank for 2 months if you plan on extending. And also make sure you are back before your stamp expires so you can apply for said extension.

No issue at all getting a re-entry permit on a 90 day entry from a Non-O visa

You can get it at the immigration office where you live OR at the airport before you fly out

Remember though, a re-entry permit doesn't add any time to your 90 day entry stamp, just lets you leave/come back before that stamp runs out
AND
Like BrandonJT said get anything banking wise done BEFORE you leave thailand so that you can meet the requirements for the extension you will get once you come back

OP, where are you currently located.

Can't get my head around the plan to enter Thailand with a Non O then exit for holiday in Oz.

Why not obtain the Non O later.

Yes you can obtain a reentry permit for the period of the 90 day permission of stay.
