Grand President Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 11 Closed?

Featured Replies

I would imagine another hotel chain took it over/bought it?

Google Maps says it is permanently closed. Any updates would be appreciacted.

Haven't been down that way for few years.

Sad news.

I used to stay there many times 10-15 years ago; easy to drive to and from Hua Hin, close to BTS and places I needed to visit in Bangkok, and very nice staff.  Always loved their breakfasts.

  • 2 weeks later...

I think it's a new owner as they are doing major renovation work right now. I use to stay there from 1999 to 2010 until I bought a condo down soi 11.

How is the Ambassador Hotel these days Didn't a fire rip thru it 20 years ago? I am OLD. Seems like yesterday.

The Dynasty used to be kinda cool & Google Maps says it is permanently closed.

It's been a few years since my first jaunt to BKK....I was there in 1999.

Lived there a long time off & on. I've stayed at the Sofitel near Mo-Chit.....College girls in those fricking uniforms everywhere. Heaven.

They weren't hookers, but they sure made for some nice eye candy. I was 33 & "RANDY" as Austin Powers put it.

Thanks for the info Brother.

Think the Ambassador is still going......didn't go in (four weeks ago?) but walked across the cut through from soi 11 to soi 13......seemed quite busy.

Used to play squash there......nice little sports facility.

Maybe had to clean and filter the "curry stench" in that Hotel full of Indians and Pakistani cheap tourists !

Are you sure?  The last post here (from June last year) indicates it's being renovated.

For three decades, the Grand President Sukhumvit 11 has been more than just a hotel; it has been a beloved Bangkok landmark, a home away from home, and a place where countless memories have been made. As a cherished member of the Kingston Hotel Group, it has embodied the values of warm hospitality and exceptional service that define our brand.

As we embark on an exciting renovation, we express our deepest gratitude to every guest and dedicated staff member who have made the Grand President a true icon. While we say goodbye for now, we eagerly anticipate welcoming you back to a revitalized haven that honors the past and embraces the future, continuing the legacy of both the Grand President Hotel and the Kingston Hotel Group.
