Easiest border run at Malaysian border

Featured Replies

I'm currently in Songkhla and would like info on the easiest border bounce to the Malaysian border using public transportation.

I've read maps reviews and there's mixed opinions everywhere, plus not much info on timetables from Hat Yai, as I assume there's nothing direct from Songkhla.

Any info will be appreciated. Would go to Wang Prachan over Sadao or Padang Besar if that meant less crowds, and same day run would be much preferred, although I wouldn't mind spending up to a week in Malaysia.

Thanks. Seems like the train from Hat Yai might be the best option. Hopefully they're taking reasonable bribes to get back on the same day or that the mandatory stay in Malaysia is not more than a few nights. A short visit to Penang is always a good idea anyways.
