Police are seeking the arrest of three foreign nationals in connection with a cache of 25 semi-automatic firearms found concealed in microwave ovens destined for shipment to Moscow, Russia.

Officers at Bang Na Police Station launched the investigation following a report from a private international shipping company. The firm discovered suspicious packages, containing firearms hidden inside microwaves, while preparing them for export.

Police revealed on 27 July that they had identified three suspects, including one woman, through CCTV analysis. Arrest warrants are now being sought from the Bangkok South Criminal Court.

The weapons were discovered at CDEK BKK, a courier service based on Udom Suk 31 Road in Phra Khanong district. Staff had been inspecting parcels received via Lalamove, another delivery platform, when they uncovered the arms cache in eight boxes on 25 July.

Under orders from Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, forensic teams examined the recovered items, which included:

• 25 semi-automatic pistols

• 13 legally registered firearms

• 12 unregistered, illegal weapons

• 19 fully assembled firearms

• 2 firearms with mismatched serial numbers between barrel and grip

• 3 firearms with matching serial numbers but components placed in different boxes

• 1 firearm with entirely non-matching serial numbers

Additional items seized as evidence included:

• 5 silencers

• 5 optical sights

• 7 component parts

• 3 cleaning kits

• 1 instruction manual

CCTV footage provided vital leads in the case. At the Udom Suk branch:

• On 15 July at 19:03, a bald man delivered a single microwave box

• On 22 July at 12:39, a man driving a Toyota Altis delivered one box

• Later that evening, at 19:04, another individual in a four-door pickup dropped off two more boxes

Further suspicious activity was observed at the company’s Silom branch:

• On 22 July at 15:06, a woman brought in a box labelled as a battery charger

• On 23 July at 10:49, two men on a motorcycle delivered three similar boxes

Police believe these deliveries were part of a coordinated international arms trafficking attempt. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue efforts to locate and arrest the individuals involved.
