A 26-year-old man from Korat was arrested for selling explicit content online, using his mum's bank account for payments. Identified as Watcharapong, he was nabbed at a condo in Nakhon Ratchasima, while his 51-year-old mother, Jarin, was picked up in Pichit. Police found that the account link was shared publicly with buyers eager for the explicit offerings.

The action stemmed from a 2020 report by a victim named Mr B, who discovered his likeness, among other victims, being sold on X.

Investigations unveiled Jarin as the unsuspecting account holder, revealing the twist involving her son. She claimed ignorance of the account's illicit use, having opened it upon Watcharapong's request while he was reportedly abroad, reported Bangkok Post.

Watcharapong allegedly sourced his content from secretive websites, luring buyers with a “buy 10, get 2 free” offer. His digital transactions allegedly generated hundreds of thousands of Thai baht, illustrating a sophisticated online operation. The shocking revelation has landed both mother and son in custody at Bang Sue Police Station.

Authorities have denounced the illicit operation, emphasising the rigorous work of tracing financial transactions to apprehend the suspects. With technology evolving, cases like these illustrate the importance of vigilance in cyberspace. Investigators are deliberating on future legal actions to ensure they receive due justice.

Something very fishy going on there.

Impossible to tell whether she was complicit or had no idea what the account was being used for.

Maybe she knew nothing, maybe the son was carrying out activities at her request. Have to know a lot more about the mother and her background to decide one way or the other.

So, he was not outside Thailand what would have been the better.

Now face justice.
