Was that because of the hot summer weather?

No. It was because there were so many people who didn't speak English, abd looked like they'd washed ashore in rubber dinghies.

It was a dump back then.   Now it's an awesome city. Central London at least has to be one of the best vibes in the world. The food from all around the world without doubt is some of the bes

Great comment. It never ceases to amaze me how vitriolic and obsessive these anti-immigrant, hypocritical, brexiteer types are about a country that they have chosen to no longer live in.

Not very observant than. Must be the blinkers getting in the way.

Bangkok has changed too. There's more white people in Bangkok than London.

Are we also cultural enriches with chang shirts and wives for prostitutes?

I was in central London just a couple of weeks back, and I thought I was in the Middle East.

I avoid Central London. I go to Vienna instead—people are genuinely friendly, especially the women. The parks are great, lots of dogs around, and the atmosphere is just better. It's actually cheaper to fly there than take a 30-minute train into Central London from where I live.

I am not sure why people don't want to see black and brown people in London. At one time the British depended on them and welcomed their help.

Honestly, I’m not sure what professions they’re in—there’s an overwhelming number of Indians and Nigerians in my area. I assume mostly nurses or maybe unemployed, but I could be wrong. For all I know, some might be ex-Spitfire pilots, though they don’t look old enough. Especially the Bible-carrying Nigerians who try to convert me when I’m just trying to relax in the park.

This is why I now live in Thailand.

But Thailand is going to be full of Indian immigrants soon enough with their visa policy.

Or you just one of those losers back home, hero in Thailand routine?

Places like Moscow are nice too. Unspoilt by woke lunacy.

So tell me where I'm wrong then, instead of this daft sniping. I also lived in London from 1983 to 1988, so I can do the same then and now comparison that the OP is making.

Can't win with racists.

They wanted Brexit cos of racism, even though they knew it would take a hit economically. They didn't care.

Post Brexit/covid there was a shortage of workers, especially in certain sectors, so these visas were given to fill up these shortages, eg in health care, nurses, social care, as well as students paying rip off fees to study here in universities so locals can get it cheap. But it doesn't matter - the racists don't care.

So at the end of the day, without any leadership making the debate for responsible immigration, then you are left for the population to say YES WE WANT TO BE POORER, AND HAVE <deleted> SERVICES, but no immigration.

As the asylum seekers they make up such a tiny percentage of the legal population. Again after Brexit we cannot return them back to France.

And at the end of the day, that’s what it comes down to. As long as it benefits them financially, the left will let anyone in.

I lived there in the early 90's, I have visited every year since, usually more than once a year as I have family there.

It hasn't changed that much really. The OP has video footage of an EID celebration in Trafalgar square which is open to all and takes place for six hours every year. They picked some footage of white people from the old days and dubbed over an Arabic call to prayer. It is pathetic.

I could make a similar video of a Jewish Hannukah celebration and dub over the sound of Jewish prayers. But it would be similarly misleading.

London has always been diverse and is one of the greatest cities in the world because of it. It is not Muslim, it is not overrun by Muslims, it is multicultural, always has been, and is a great city because of it.

Even when the pound fell because of Brexit - you can't argue with them.

They want to take the financial hit. But then blame the remaining immigrants for the loss.

It's their own thickness that is ruining that country.

Do you realise that the Pound exchange rate doesn't effect people in the UK ?

It effects racists in Thailand or those who go on holidays, and those who export.

Doesnt it also effect non racists in Thailand ?

Non racists had to suffer - because sadly since 1941 it's been shown you can get a thick population to be racist and blame migrants for their problems.

Hampstead or Islington? That's where most of the Lefties come from, and you weren't there in the 80's, so you can't talk to the OP, who was talking about the period when I lived there and you didn't.

Diversity has destroyed London. Much of it isn't English anymore.

Why are some so scared of diversity?

Because it's a failed lefty experiment that has caused society to fragment, crime rates to soar, housing to become unavailable, and unemployment of our own young people to skyrocket.
