New immigration office in Udon

Featured Replies

Good morning

Someone knows when the new immigration office in Nong Samrong will open? And when the former building (Posri Road) will close?

Thank you

A bit away from the city but not as bad as Khon Kaen 😁

Did my 90 day report today, hadn't realised they had moved. Wonder why they would move to such an out of the way place? Despite the shortcomings of the previous location, at least it had banks etc near by, and certainly more convenient. It's also a pity they did not take this relocation opportunity to build in some privacy when doing business at the counter!

It's about as far from Udon city as you need to use the U-turn coming from the south in KK

Pass the building on the right, 3 km to U-turn, 3 km back. Hilarious.

Seems like a great location, only 4.2 kms off the ring road.  What U-turns ?

Beats driving in/out of town, with minimal parking, and a packed out office.

Beats the hell out of new Hua Hin Imm office, which is now 9 kms outside of town (RR station).  Though better for me, but not folks that live in HH.

Agreed about the packed out office. But in terms of convenience, it's now way less convenient. Least when visiting immigration before, you could do something useful in town at the same time. Now that opportunity has gone. Now have to travel outside of town to fight through traffic coming back in. As for parking, never had a problem with the old place, there was a police investigation unit car park nearby, always had spaces, couple hundred meters walk... But the biggest issue (least for me) remains the lack of privacy at the counter.

Privacy? For a farang begging to stay? Next you'll be expecting untrammelled local banking abilities.

Oh, wait...

Sorry I was not clear.

I was describing the terrible new location of Khon Kaen office in comparison.

Saying: don't whine about Udon.

Udon Thani’s Green Infrastructure Master Plan, launched in 2017, is a real and ongoing framework to make the city resilient to floods and climate change, but it’s also a long journey that takes decades. That’s why in 2025, “wet feet” are still part of daily life as urban pressures grow faster than green solutions can be rolled out. And while the plan is all about water-smart living, the imported little green creature in the glass isn’t part of it at all — it comes from old French absinthe posters, where it symbolized the haunting dangers of drink, now playfully repurposed as a reminder that not all “green spirits” are the same:
