Funny how the ones screaming so much about defending sacred Thai soil are never the ones on the front lines.

How long can a nation be blind to the plight of it's direct neighbours?

What nation, and which neighbours, is this all about, please??

Jatuporn really has changed his stripes, hasn't he? From being a leftist 20 years ago, fighting for peasants' rights and a more equitable country, to a right-wing nationalist appearing almost fascist. And why? Because he had a falling out with Thaksin, or because the penny finally dropped that Thaksin is like every other politician (in it for himself first and foremost)? Or did Thaksin do something else to him that he isn't revealing? There must be more to this than his sudden embrace of the country's military-nationalist establishment..

I would follow the newspaper articles about him around the time when the redshirts were occupying the streets in Bkk.  One of those political figures that can't possibly be taken seriously (best of show back then was the guy telling the Issanis to bring a litre of gasoline with them to Bkk to burn the city down).  I have the impression his relationship with the T-guy made him quite wealthy, and I suspect his real position is "whatever the boss says today."  Yet another country where the conservative status quo is being co-opted by a personality-driven political movement.  Quite the international fashion these days.

Anyone is entitled to an opinion. Jatupon happens to be a public figure. Is he any different from someone on AN who gives an opinion except he has wider exposure?

He has a point though that there is rarely coordination between different parts of the government.

Trying to agitate his military pals back into the power seat ... Someone should put a very tight bag over this clowns head...

Those pro-wars are always in a safe place.

Never volunteer to the frontline duty.

From reading reports the Cambodian army started moving forward towards the border since February. Long before the famous telephone call that was probably a set up by Hun Sen.I doubt  we will ever hear the truth behind it.

Who?

A true Sh.t stirrer who should be put down like a lame horse!!

Yes, it's been badly handled and the Thais should have realised that once the Cambodians first shot rockets and they landed, like the one that flattened the 7-11 and killed people, they should have hit back really hard and hit everything they wanted to, and fast.

Why? Firstly, once the first rocket lands then the clock is ticking before some self-righteous third party jumps in and starts doing the "calm down, calm down" stuff.

Secondly, if you hit them hard, as the Thai military are way stronger, they have the opportunity to show their military strength so that in the future neighbours will leave them alone or think twice about taking the p!ss.

Thailand could have taken out all Cambodia's beligerent assets fast and should have done so, then can shrug its shoulders and say "fine" when the UN/China/US ect. wade in and say "enough"... too slow Thailand.
