Vietjet Thailand is making waves by introducing two direct routes from India to Bangkok, with base fares starting at an astonishing 0.50 baht.

This exciting development will see flights launched from Kolkata and Ahmedabad to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. These will mark the airline's third and fourth direct routes linking India and Thailand, further expanding Vietjet's presence in the Indian market.

Beginning on 17th November, the Kolkata–Bangkok route opens new avenues for travellers from West Bengal. Flight VZ771 will depart Kolkata at 12.20 am, arriving in Bangkok by 4.25 am. The return flight, VZ770, leaves Bangkok at 9.55 pm, landing back in Kolkata at 11.20 pm. Services on this route will operate every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Following closely, the Ahmedabad–Bangkok route launches on 4th December. Travellers can catch Flight VZ751 from Ahmedabad at 11.55 pm, touching down in Bangkok at 5.35 am the next morning. The return journey on Flight VZ750 departs Bangkok at 7.40 pm, with a landing in Ahmedabad at 10.55 pm. These flights also operate on the same four days each week.

To celebrate these launches, Vietjet has initiated the "Takeoff to Bangkok from ₹1" campaign. With a promotional fare of just 1 Indian rupee (approximately 0.50 baht), excluding taxes and fees, this offer is available for bookings made between 31st July and 5th August. Travel dates are set from 17th November to 28th March for the Kolkata route, and from 4th December to 28th March for the Ahmedabad route, as per Travel Daily Media.

Tickets can be easily booked through Vietjet’s website or mobile app.

Woranate Laprabang, CEO of Vietjet Thailand, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “The launch of these new services from Kolkata and Ahmedabad to Bangkok reaffirms our continued investment and development in the Indian market. We’re proud to offer greater convenience, exceptional value, and a safe, friendly flying experience.”

Bangkok remains a top choice for Indian tourists, celebrated for its vibrant street food, exciting shopping experiences, and rich cultural heritage. The new routes are anticipated to attract many Indian travellers. Moreover, from Bangkok, passengers can conveniently reach popular Thai destinations such as Phuket, Krabi, and Chiang Mai using Vietjet’s comprehensive domestic network.

This strategic expansion underscores Vietjet’s commitment to fostering connections between these two dynamic regions, promising not just affordability but also increased convenience for international travellers.

The aisles of 7-11 and supermarkets will be clogged. The free air-con with no admission charge is simply too good to miss. A group of seven may even splash out on one bottle of water.

Great news.🤮🤮🤮

Pretty good news for us as we're planning to go to Kolkata in February 2026 to start a motorcycle tour to Nagaland, Assam and Sikkim. The other flight options of Thai airways and Indigo are unfavourable due to price and service. VietJet looks like a good option and we like Vietjet anyway. All the flight times either direction are s.hite though.
