1st class insurance on top of that will be at least another 500kbht.

Many legal requirements, sober, full D/L, not deliberate, over 25 years old, etc.

Renewed the insurance on my 2012 Vigo Pick-up last week, had since new, now 260,000 km.

Used Roojai, incl breakdown cover, and used it twice, First Class is slightly less than Bht 9000 per year, or for me Bht 845 for ten months.

Willing to bet that even IF he had insurance, it would NOT cover a motorbike accident.  But the real point for me is, these people who feel obliged to constantly post "Tragic, but travel insurance ??"

  • Umm? They got in an accident, there is no proof of whose fault it is, just because the other driver left the scene doesn't automatically mean he is at fault for the accident.

How do you know this??

Dashcam footage....pretty cut and dry.

The Scotsman skidded along the ground before being run over by a 20-wheeler truck, which crushed his legs. Shocking dashcam footage shows the truck passing through an intersection as the motorcyclist flies into view along the ground. He appears to get dragged under the huge tyres as sparks come from his bike, followed by a sickening thud.

This was from a UK paper yesterday.
They have dash cam and CCTV but nothing showing the accident, trucks reg was not visible in the footage.

Sounds like the Scotsman wiped out and slid into traffic.

I ride motorcycles in Thailand but I also have a motorcycle licence back home and have experience. Seems there's a lot of farangs with limited experience but they think they can handle it. Then stuff like this happens and it gives bikes a bad name. As if it was the motorcycles fault
