The Championship:

Always watch some interesting highlights over the weekend.

Coventry City looking very good.

Norwich could well be relegated.

Still early days, but the battle for a playoff spot is unbelievable. Only 6pts separates 4th down to 17th. Almost anyone can pretty much beat anyone.

The Lions are right up there Gary. Can we look forward to Lions v Gunners next season?

My three to go up don't look so good right now. No more forecasting til new year.

Got last night's result spot on though. Hoops 2 - 1 Tractors.

  • I was not expecting Everton to be above Liverpool on the table with 15 games gone. It is so tight from Number 4 to Number 12 and this is what makes Premier League really interesting.

  • Interesting call.  Liverpool to fall to 4th. I suppose Salah & VVD are certainly getting on. They could still sign Isak.  I can't see Palace finishing that high.  Will they even kee

Last week was abysmal. Did really bad. Didn't expect City and Toon to lose. The 3 goal margin was also echoed in the Ch Lg in the week. Pool getting done at home1-4. Forest winning 3-0. I was right about Toffeez coming good at United though.

Right then. Not had a full house of correct results for a couple of years. Although last season got a couple of 8/10. Best this y=season 7/10. Here we go.

2-2 - Beez v Clarets

3-0 - City v Peacocks

2-2 - Black Cats v Bournemouth

2-1 - Toffeez v Toon

2-0 - Spurs v Cottagers

2-0 - Palace v United

2-0 - Villa v Wolves

3-1 - Forest v Seagulls

1-1 - Irons v Pool

2-1 - Blues v Gunners

Chelsea will be just one point behind if I'm right.

Wow. We have 6 differences.

Bees to win.

Toon to win away.

Palace & Utd to draw.

Pool to win in London.

Forest & Seagulls to draw.

Gunners to win 2 - 1.

(Was considering 1-1)

Hopefully I'll get 3 of these correct.

I'm more of a neutral fan these days.

Would be good for the title race if Blues & City were to win.

You never know, Isak could find his goalscoring boots & Pool go on a long winning streak  .... starting this weekend.

Have a bit of a story with this fixture.

A good few years back when I was in REME, a friend and I, had a Saturday off and decided to hitch to London to watch the Chelsea v Arsenal match at The Bridge. We left Arborfield with plenty of time to spare. We thought! But got to the ground after the match had started. Gates were locked. Went round to the main office. Met with a guy who we explained our story to. We were in uniform; although casual not dress. He let us in.

Can't recall the score, but remember the gate. I kid you not Gary; 67,000. Real crowd 67,002.

Just to say Gary.

The footy was once a thriving mainstay on AN (TV as it was then). The weekly forecast game had about 30 players. Where have they all gone? Hardly ever see them create a topic or respond to a thread.

I saw Arsenal at Chelsea twice back in the 80s. Stood on the very open away end. Strange ground back then. Two rather poor games. Drew & lost.

Didn't you say you do predictions & have a league.

I do that with 12 family members in UK.

It was even stranger back in the 60s. 3/4 of the crowd were on one side. Tiny stand then. Same as Charltons. Was at a Charlton game in the late 60s. I was sitting at the top of the terracing opposite the tiny stand. There were 12k at the game and no one within 5 metres of me.

Must have changed a lot since those days. No idea what it looks like now.

Yes mate,  I do do weekly predictions. Some quite cute prediction cookies on the two English leagues. The best I've done is a 7th spot one week in the EPL. Actually topped the Championship one month a few years back, but no where at the end of the season.

About 2,000 players all told.

I was the winner of the Champions League competition the year before last. I play under the name; 'Mr Owl'

Last time I went back to UK was 2018.

I saw a boring Gills 0 Doncaster 0, and a really good Charlton 3 Rotherham 1.

The Valley is a really nice ground. 👌

The week end's predictions hit an all time low. Just 2 from the 10 matches.

Can only get better from that dismal effort.

2-1 - Cherries v Toffeez

2-2 - Cottagers v City

2-0 - Toon v Spurs - ?????

2-0 - Gunners v Beez

1-1 - Seagulls v Villa

1-2 - Clarets v Palace

0-3 - Wolves v Forest

0-2 - Peacocks v Blues

1-2 - Pool v Black Cats - Banker

1-1 - United v Irons

Toon match v Spurs; big doubt. Can't believe Spurs can be so bad.

Black Cats to shock the Kop.

Not a good Tuesday for you. 0/3

I don't predict midweek games, but I would have got City. Not 4 - 5 though.

Pool to beat Black Cats.

Utd to beat WHU.

It was terrible.

All seems so unpredictable. Forest at Pool 0-3. Then go and lose at home 0-2 v Seagulls.

At least the women's footy is more predictable.

All done. 4/10

Perhaps a tad enthusiastic with Cherries to win at Anfield. Had it 1-1 on 'predictthefootball'.

The two Uniteds; MU and WH are so unpredictable. Toon too. TBH, I can't see the Irons going down. And, I can't see Devils doing top 6. Looking at the whole league, it's hard to point to anyone, other than the two form teams, to predict a result.

Who is the form team in the EPL? Why it's Villa; 15/18. Gunners 14/18. Wolves 0/18. That's real form for yer.

Gutted for Hearts. Can they come back?

Let's get at least better than my previous dismal efforts. Last time out 4/10. Half with correct scores.

2-2 - Villa v Gunners --- ?????

1-1 - Cherries v Blues

0-2 - Toffeez v Forest

2-1 - City v Black Cats

3-0 - Toon v Clarets --- Banker

1-1 - Spurs v Beez

2-1 - Peacocks v Pool

2-1 - Seagulls v Irons

1-2 - Cottagers v Palace

2-1 - Wolves v United

The two form EPL teams go head to head. Who knows?

Gone for an easy banker😂. I'll stab my mouse if Toon don't win.

Big one north of the border tomorrow. Come on you Jam Tarts.

Only one team in the Championship is unbeaten in their last 6matches; Wrexham.

It's another tough weekend of predictions. I don't like to predict draws, but I have 3:

Villa 1 AFC 1.

Spurs 2 Bees 2.

Fulham 1 Palace 1.

I've also backed Blues, Toffees & Pool.

Banker:  Toon.

I just had a look back at some old threads. 2023 FANTASY EPL was canceled as there weren't enough members. About 10 I think. Was this you ... Owlseesall ??

Match abandoned at The Valley. Any news Gary?

Late reply. I'm sure you know by now.

Sadly a Charlton fan passed away in the ground.

When I first heard the news, it said that the match was suspended. All became clear later.

I was at Upton Park one year. A ball went into the North Bank and hit a fan in the face. Unfortunately the fan's head went back and hit a metal upright. The game was stopped while he was taken to hospital. Play continued some 10/12 minutes later. Never found out any more. Never mentioned in the Hammer's programme notes. So guess he was OK.

This EPL is nuts. But good to see. Man U are 12th. It they win tomorrow, they could go 4th. Burnley now join Wolves with 0/18 points (last 6 matches). These two are gonners I reckon.

How can a team - Forest - go to Anfield, be completely dominant, win 0-3, but be so awful since? Have Toffeez finally got a bit of belief in themselves? Cherries!! Just 2/18. Good job they had some early points in the bag.

Syk Blues lost. Lions up to 3rd.

Jam Tarts must get at least a point today, or they can kiss their title hopes goodbye.

Just noticed. Great win for Hearts. 👍 However, I expect Celtic will still win it in the end.

Palace now up to 4th.

This season is hard to predict.

Another poor weekend for me. 🙁

Jam Tarts made my day. Their recent form had been terrible. Don't know where that result came from. But great they had it in them.

4/10 from the week end games. I agree about this season being hard to predict. So many unexpected results. Are Wolves gonna break the low points score?

Championship Red Dragons still unbeaten in last 8. they got off to an awful start, but are gradually climbing. Tip for the play-offs? Most draws in the league; 9/19. Have to win more.

I was not expecting Everton to be above Liverpool on the table with 15 games gone. It is so tight from Number 4 to Number 12 and this is what makes Premier League really interesting.

Well they were unbeaten until Hull done them. And The Tigers sent themselves into the top 6.

Indeed!

Toffeez are finding their feet at their new stadium. They could be challenging for top 6 early next year. Can't believe pool will not hit a winning streak sometime soon.

Big shock for me is Cherries. Started so well, and have now hit relegation form.

Another fairly disappointing weekend of PL predictions for me ... 6/9.

Why did I back Spurs & Toon away from home? 🤷

6/10. Same as me Gary.

Thrilled for the Jam Tarts north of the border. Home to Rangers this w/e.

Here we go then for a full house. Not had one of those for yonks.

1-2 - Toon v Blues --- ?????

2-2 - Cherries v Clarets

1-1 - Seagulls v Black Cats

2-0 - City v Irons

2-1 - Wolves v Beez

3-2 - Spurs v Pool

1-1 - Toffeez v Gunners

1-2 - Peacocks v Palace

2-0 - Villa v United --- banker

0-2 - Cottagers v Forest

If I'm right City will go top.

First match up is a real cracker. Gone for Chelsea; but??? Wolves to get their first win. Toffeez finding their feet at the new ground.

Best game in Champs for me; Saints v Sky Blues.
