I love Liam Neeson as much as I always loved "The Naked Gun," but I didn't like Neeson in this new chapter of this franchising, where he plays the son of Frank "Leslie Nielsen" Drebin.

I believe it is the highest grossing weekend opening of his career so some people liked it.

I thought it was pretty funny he got out of his Taken element.

Will I go to jail for torrenting?

No, copyright violation is a civil offense, not criminal. To get in legal trouble for torrenting you have to be sued by a company, the government itself won't send people to arrest you on its own.

I only watch torrents, and can't remember the last time I wasted 100 THB at the movie theater.   I don't consider it theft, if it's something I would have never paid to watch anyway.

Really can't think of anything I've watched in the past 15 ish year, that I would have paid to see.   Think the last things I paid to see, and worth it, was 'The Matrix Revolutions' (2003), and 'Star Trek' (2009).

Ever since then, it's been torrents.  TBH, they're nothing but time killers.  Some have been enjoyable, but nothing I'd pay to see.

Yep .... it's still dishonest.  You are receiving stolen property to save 100 THB, and giving nothing back to the industry.  The honest approach would be to either pay to view, or not watch the films until they are available on a free to view channel.

What if someone came into your home and stole some beer out of your fridge, then said it's OK, I don't like Chang anyway.

They wouldn't find any beer, or any alcohol in our house.

I don't have any TV or movie programming.   Most things I watch, TV series, are free to view, I think.  I'm not getting the difference of watching things now for free, or waiting to watch them for free.

I really don't watch much new anyway, as not one to wait for the next installment.   Maybe if good reviews, I'll download a whole season and watch, if I make it through the first episode, which is actually rare :cheesy:

I think I watch more YT than anything, as more interesting.

I could watch them for free on my daughters streaming account, but I need subtitles, and the ability to pause and or rewind.  Another reason I don't go to theaters, aside from people yakking all around you.

So I'm seeing things, maybe 6 months earlier, well movies, for free, instead of streaming them for free, in the not so distant future.

TBH, if had to wait for programmed viewing, I probably wouldn't watch them.  All a bit irrelevant.  So, I'm stealing the money, I would have never given them.   Got it.

Damn capital crime ... have a nice day.  Someone needs to get a life.

Troll on, thanks for the chuckle :cheesy:

I think exactly like you. I think there are films that are worth watching at the cinema, but for the rest, every film is worth watching at home in an armchair.

Context matters: a preachy tone or public shaming leans more self-righteous than a private, matter-of-fact comment.

Petty theft is still theft.  It's like shoplifting, context applies to sentencing, not guilt.

I guess from your comment you're another Cheap Charlie.
