A 26-year-old man was killed instantly in the early hours of the morning after his modified motorcycle slammed into the back of a 20-wheel lorry in Pathum Thani.

The crash occurred at around 05.30 on 16 August on Highway 347, heading towards the Technopathum Thani intersection in Ban Klang, Mueang District. Police from Suan Phrik Thai station, forensic doctors from the Ministry of Justice and rescue workers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation attended the scene.

The victim, identified as Mr. Chaipisit, was found dead on the road. His heavily modified white Honda motorcycle, which had no licence plate, was completely wrecked. The speedometer was frozen at 140 km/h, suggesting the rider had been travelling at very high speed.

Officers found the rear of a Hino 20-wheel lorry with minor damage and blood stains. The driver, Mr. Saksing 48, was unhurt.

Mr. Saksing told police he had been transporting a load of stone from Saraburi to Bang Phlat, Nonthaburi. “I suddenly heard a loud bang from the back of the truck, the whole vehicle shook. When I stopped to check, I saw the motorcycle smashed into the rear and the rider lying on the road,” he said.

Police documented the scene and questioned the lorry driver while also planning to review nearby CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the crash. The victim’s body was transferred to the Ministry of Justice’s forensic unit for examination before being released to his family for religious rites.

When you have no brains these things will happen. It is normal here in Thailand.. Even kids with no helmets are racing in our small soi.. everybody complains to eachother, but nobody is taking action, nor to their parents, nor to the police or the kids themselves... Just waiting until an accident will happen, it is not if, but when.....And sitting in my livingroom on the mainstreet it seems sometimes there is a racing circuit outdoor for motorcyclist speeding with at least 100km/h.. Every day we hear the ambulance, but there are more racers I suppose as it keeps going on... Stupidity can't be cured, so why should you feel sorry for this kind of gambling with their life
