I have been on Testosterone injections for 31 years and my testicles have not shrunk and died.

So three weeks on and two weeks off then to let them recover?

I guess everyone has a goal that they want to achieve as they grow older.  I once lived in the Pyrenee mountains (beautiful place), and I wanted to cross from west to east on horseback before I died.  Unfortunately, all the horses got wind of my plan and emigrated...

Now, having reached retirement age of 66, and with modest but sufficient monthly income, I want to continue my educational charity in Myanmar for as long as I am able.  But although my brain is strong, it seems my flesh is not 🙂.  It's not my huge bunion and BPH and Bronchiestasis and dodgy eyes that is the problem - I have learnt to live with these.

No, it's just a general tiredness, aching bones and muscles.

I'm sure that there is no underlying serious illness - I'm just getting old!

I do take general supplements (Centrum Silver).  But are there some specific supplements that have proven results to make me as sprightly as a sprightly bar maid (female hormones aside)?

I hear that Boron is good for knee joints and magnesium is good for .... er ... something else.

I walk 5km every day and don't get tired (my lung function is normal - my bronchiestasis just produces more mucus than normal),  but I think I also need some other physical activity to stretch my tendons and make me more supple (bar maid comparison again).

I had a general blood works check-up last week, as well as an ECG and stress test, and nothing ill-toward found, arteries are clean as a whistle, no fat depositis etc, HR normal, blood pressure normal etc.

Suggestions welcome!

On your way to Myamar stop off in Pattaya Call into a chemist and pick up some bluies  and have a night out  in SOI 6. That will get rid of your aches and pains.

So you are saying that edible products (food/drink etc) that are high in natural testosterone will do nothing to increase our T levels?

Those might help when your body can still produce it's own, but in your case they will have negligible effects.

Are you taking any medications.  What you mention could be side effects from medication.  If it is the side effects from medication ask your Doctor if there are any other drugs with the same efficacy but whose side effects are more minimal.

Regarding your knees a pill alone won't solve it.  Yes, MSM and supplements like Move Free help.  I play tennis a lot and the muscles in your legs help to reduce the impact.

If safe you could try Moringa for endurance and creatine for energy.  Make sure the supplements are safe to take with any medication you take

Don't worry, it's all a normal part of the dying process. Quite natural.

At 70 I'm (sometimes painfully) aware I'm no longer 60, let alone 50. But fortunately still reasonably active and healthy enough and in a similar physical/medical state to you. Healthy eating and enough exercise can help to stave off the inevitable, to slow it down, statistically at least. However, you are who you are and decline of some sort, at some speed, towards the final outcome, is inevitable.

I think it pays to simply embrace it creatively. Look forward to the big sleep. You seem to be  leaving something of great value behind in Myanmar. That should make a soft pillow. I sadly have yet to find a larger legacy beyond my immediate personal circle, but got my eyes peeled.

I'm sorry , I can't get past this sentence.

Why come to Thailand ?

It was difficult to buy pad Thai in Lannemezan....  🙂

@ JBranche, no I take no medications apart from a natural mucus thinner for my lungs.  So no contra-indications (or whatever they're called).

2 BusyB, I've made a 'base' in Luang Prabang but I'm due to return to Myanmar (Shan State) in a few weeks for a new teaching job and to continue my charity work.  But my UK passport is full!  Rather than wait the 2 months for the UK embassy to sort out a new passport, I will fly back to the London passpor toffice and use their premium service to get a new passport in 4 hours (they already confirmed that someone living overseas can do this).  An expensive trip, but a quick trip, 'cos the kids in Taunggyi don't have a teacher right now... 🙂

Now 84 years old. It won't suit many but for what it is worth my lifestyle consists of an hour's exercise every morning including running and weights, a vegetarian (not vegan) diet for over 50 years, a range of vitamin capsules every day, word games and crossword puzzles every day, and a lovely Thai wife for over 40 years. She is now 70 and still a first class cook, and an excellent driver. All of that works well for me and appears to keep me in good shape. so far.
