You guys do realize that the fraud conviction stands?

You are cheering that the fraudster do not have to pay the fine, but he is still a fraudster.

One win at a time !

Trump can now appeal remaining issues with  the same Court and if necessary the SCOTUS.

Big Big win

Oh well, do you know who was defrauded and who the victims were in this fraud? The banks indicated in their testimony they were quite happy and had a desire to conduct further business with Trump. The entire warfare witch-hunt was ludicrous from the start. The actions of the prosecutors violated 8th and 14th amendments, this case will get tossed real quick now as it should It should NEVER have been brought. You don't have much understanding of law, and you like so many others just pop woodies and boners and pray for the demise of Trump with your every waking breath but he has proven to be a very worthy foe and even bullet proof and you can't handle that.

Donald Trump was found liable for civil fraud by Judge Arthur Engoron in a New York civil case, he was NOT CONVICTED of anything.

Until it gets to the next court. Appeal as a matter of right with no pressure from the money judgement.

The other side can appeal too.

There is something wrong with you guys when you consider a conviction for fraud a big win. SAD, really!

A finding - whatever you want to call it. I am not a natural English speaker. The result is that the court and the appeal court found that he had committed fraud.

Its OK. Spin away. So do you think that the fine was correct?

You’re not going to win here.  Native speaker or not.

I have no idea if it was or not. I think the other punishments are very sound: Barring him for three years from serving in top roles at any New York company, and inflicting a two-year ban on his adult sons. Those punishments stand as well as the fraud finding.

I know, I just found it funny - or rather very sad - that the usual gang applauded that their Messiah is a fraudster.

So you think factually and legally they are correct judgments as opposed to lawfare?

If he is a fraudster, why not fine him?

The evidence seems overwhelming - and fully in line with his personality. Inflating numbers when it fits him and lowering them when that is better,

They may fine him yet.

There needs to be a victim of this "fraud', BUT THERE IS NO VICTIM. Go read the 5th and 14th amendments for context and pay attention to the timeline of the civil case starting with the judges partial summary judgement in Sept 2023 WITHOUT A TRIAL indicating a trial wasn't needed due to the evidence. The trial eventually concluded in January 2024.

How about Biden issuing preemptive criminal pardons to members of his family but FOR WHAT! How's that for an admission of guilt. Is that ok in your Trump obsessed messiah based mind?

Trump is ruining your country and everything that made it great. Unfortunately for other western countries that has an effect on us. China and Russia are very happy, though.

Sorry, I am not playing any more. Last post from me in this thread.

The appeals court judge had this to say:

"Judge David Friedman, in his dissenting opinion in the New York appeals court ruling on August 21, 2025, wrote that New York Attorney General Letitia James’ “ultimate goal was not ‘market hygiene’ … but political hygiene, ending with the derailment of President Trump’s political career and the destruction of his real estate business.” This statement was part of Friedman’s broader argument that James misused New York Executive Law § 63(12) in pursuing the civil fraud case against Trump, asserting that the case lacked a public interest justification since no parties (e.g., banks) suffered financial harm."

Wild guess...but that grin, that grin is no longer there is it. There will be a terrified grimace in its place. From hunter to the hunted is a tough role for anyone, and this guy will be in turmoil & anguish. He will be sweating regret from every pore. The last 6 months has delivered the most beautiful karma ever. Let's keep this momentum.

Don't forget Alvin Bragg. Letitia James has even more legal problems coming her way and that is likely to include a lawsuit from Trump.

They will still be fining him.......but a lot less.

They have not aquitted him of the charges.....and will not aquit him.

They will be fining him because he was, is, and will remain, a convicted criminal

"In the lengthy ruling released on Thursday, judges on the New York Supreme Court's Appellate Division stated that while Trump was liable for the fraud, the fine of nearly half a billion dollars was excessive and probably violated constitutional protections against severe punishment."

Trump is ruining your country

Maybe he's ruining your mind by living in it rent free. Maybe you can clarify how Trump is ruining "your country", as in America?  Start with secure borders and crime reduction. Throw in renewed foreign investment levels, approaching $10T. Maybe you think deporting illegal criminal aliens is somehow "ruining" the country? If not, what then is being ruined?  I suspect strongly he is ruining the wokesters and DEI pundits ability to thrive, and maybe you are "feeling it". And for sure Trump has ruined the democrat party. He's ruined Obamas and HRC's and others legacies after exposing their  treasonous endeavors and oh yeah DOGE exposed and ruined the corruption and grift in USAID, and don't forget how Trump "ruined" Biden on June 27th 2024 effectively relegating Biden to the floor under a huge Trump mop and ending Bidens hallucinations of a 2nd auto-pen term.. There are no less than 78M patriots who love how Trump's "ruining" America, and the rest of the world and likely you included is IRRELEVANT in case you haven't figured that out yet. It's called America First, exactly what Trump campaigned on and what the voters expect. Also, who's bringing peace and order back to eastern Europe, not your country, NOT EVEN close. You should be so lucky Trump is a leader who cares about his country and works incessantly to solve problems at home and on the global stage, especially his peace initiatives. Having said that, maybe it is Biden who cranks you in all the right places, so be it. Languish on and see where that gets you.

What happens next

With the appeals court ruling in, the next step is the state’s top bench, the New York Court of Appeals.

James’s office quickly vowed to appeal in hopes that she can restore the nine-figure fine against Trump.

“We will seek appeal to the Court of Appeals and continue to protect the rights and interests of New Yorkers,” James’s office said in its statement.

Trump and his sons could also appeal and seek to overturn what’s left of the trial court judgment, including the limits on their ability to serve in top roles for New York companies in the near term.

NB the govt. cannot appeal a criminal verdict loss -- but this one is civil

""Judge David Friedman gave Engoron a close-up that would have made Swanson wince. He detailed how the underlying law "has never been used in the way it is being used in this case – namely, to attack successful, private, commercial transactions, negotiated at arm’s length between highly sophisticated parties fully capable of monitoring and defending their own interests." ""

Court holds that Donald Trump is still liable for fraud. Posting in large bold fonts is apparently important to the Trump cultists. Trump will still pay a penalty to be decided  at the next appeal.

Still Losing

I wanted to be the first one to wave goodbye to a whole bunch of folks.

Winning.

And still losing. NY State is appealing. Trump is still liable for fraud. At best, he pays a reduced penalty.

Comon you guys & gals share in the triumph,The far left got humiliated again!

Don't be shy !

The only one humiliated is Trump as the appeals court says that he is still liable. The only thing that will be changed is his penalty.
