Fighters from the Forpost Brigade on the Vovchansk direction captured a Russian who joined the war straight from prison. He voluntarily went to fight against Ukraine.

 

"Instead of serving his sentence honestly and not ruining other people's lives, he decided to 'earn' money by going to war against Ukraine. Luck did not favor him here either — he got handcuffs instead of money," the border guards said.

 

Earlier this year, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense Intelligence reported that Russia planned to mobilize 126,000 soldiers from a so-called "special contingent." This includes Russians serving prison sentences, under investigation, in debt, or facing other problems.

The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was an alliance of convenience. Stalin, for his part, wanted the West to weaken itself, so he was willing to absorb Hitler’s pressure to make that possible. Later, when Hitler turned on the Soviet Union, the Allies were equally willing to form an alliance with Stalin to defeat the Nazis—despite him being a leader many today characterize as even worse than Hitler. While we’re on the subject of Nazi alliances, we should also remember those of the OUN and the Banderite nationalists, or, for that matter, Israel’s Stern Gang. History is often very messy; there are rarely clear “good guys,” only actors who are less destructive than others (atom bomb anyabody -  on 2 whole cities ?) . On September 1st, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine released footage of an attack against a Russian military airfield in Crimea. The video included footage of strikes on key weapons, and the operation reportedly proved to be quite costly for Russian forces.

 

The video captured two multipurpose Mi-8 helicopters being hit by drones. One was hit in the stern section while a second was targeted. However, the area where it was struck was not made clear in the footage. The DIU noted the helicopters were destroyed. 

 

Later reporting from the satellite analysis intelligence group AviVector on X noted that satellite imagery of the airbase revealed that two helicopters had been destroyed on the grounds of the airbase following an attack by Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine marked Moscow with leaflets in honor of Intelligence Day. The leaflets reminded Russians that retribution is inevitable, according to sources in military intelligence.

 

It's reported that the leaflets were posted across various districts of Moscow — on fences, in parks, at public transport stops, on poles, and even on apartment building walls. The leaflets featured the HUR logo and the phrase "Responsibility is inevitable" in Russian.

 

"After all the crimes Muscovites (Russians -ed.) committed on our land, it is naive to hope they will escape their deserved punishment, both now and in the future. Residents of the so-called Russian capital can apparently expect special greetings from Ukrainian Military Intelligence very soon," a HUR source said.

Ukrainian forces are making gains on several frontlines. In particular, a significant portion of the front has been retaken in the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia directions, according to a post by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Again, nothing from you about Katyn. Putin doesn't believe Katyn existed as a war crime; he argues that at the time, Poland ceased to exist, so therefore no warcrime. You back him. The United Kingdom will fund the production of thousands of long-range drones for the Ukrainian military over the course of a year, British Defense Secretary John Healey announced during the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) meeting.

 

Healey stated that over the next 12 months, the United Kingdom would fund the production of thousands of long-range kamikaze drones, which would be manufactured in the UK and delivered to Ukraine.

 

Today, September 9, the 30th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group is taking place in London.

The online meeting is attended, among others, by British Defense Secretary John Healey, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

During the 30th meeting of the Contact Group in the Ramstein format, Ukraine received an important signal — international support will continue and strengthen, the Defense Minister, Denys Shmyhal, stated.

 

The European Union confirmed its commitment to deliver 2 million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine, of which 80% have already been collected. It also concerns the possibility of directing €6.6 billion from the EU Peace Fund to purchase American weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

 

In addition, the EU will invest in the defense industry through the SAFE mechanism and is preparing to allocate €4 billion each in October and November.

Ukraine received another €1 billion from the European Union. The funds are part of the EU contribution within the G7 countries’ initiative, the Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated.

 

"This tranche is financed from the profits of the frozen assets of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation," she wrote.

 

ERA foresees directing $50 billion to Ukraine, which future revenues from frozen Russian assets will ensure. The EU contribution amounts to €18.1 billion ($20 billion).
