Looking for some real world feedback about the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i PHEV. I've read all the articles and watched too many Youtube videos. They seem to be more interested in views/clicks or the next free trip to China.

I'm after you owner's of this vehicle and the things that p15s you off about it. I really feel this is the car for me in my retirement and I can't seem to find much wrong with it, and that sends  up red flags to me that I've overlooked something.

Our daily commute is mainly into our local town (Bua Yai) for shopping which is about 15 km's. Weekly further regular trips to Chaiyaphum (55 km's)  and Korat (93 km's) so most will be done on electric. This is particularly enticing as we will be charging it from our Solar System.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give.

i like the car from the outside, inside it’s fine except for the storage space and the overall room, which felt too tight for me. i’ve been driving the sealion 7 awd for more than 10,000 km now and i love it ...

have you asked yourself why a plug-in hybrid and not a fully electric car? based on your driving profile, a bev would be perfect for you, especially since you have solar ...

with the 6dm-i you get a combustion engine and an electric motor, in my view that’s a poor compromise because it comes with several disadvantages. but some car manufacturers know this type of car sells well and they play on the fear of range as a major selling point. range anxiety is unfounded here in thailand (thailand has excellent charging infrastructure) and is mostly an argument pushed by bev opponents ...
