I’m with you on this one. I’m even seeing old ladies with them. And guy’s in shopping malls during the winter wearing shorts? Presumably so the world can admire their hideous tattoos. 
 

Neck and face are the worst. I equate that with mental health issues.

Already discussed here many many times. You might disagree with it, but you probably already understand. It doesn't require an explanation. Some people find blond hair attractive, some do not. Some find tattoos attractive, some do not. It's not one of the great mysteries of the world.

Though I find the vast majority of tattoos on men to be uninteresting and unappealing I do find some set tattoos on women to be incredibly sexy and quite beautiful. It's a very personal thing what we do with our lives and our bodies. 

 

One thing that I do not understand is people who have large amounts of tattoos that are very difficult to hide. Who do they work for, what do they do for a living, and what kind of a limitation does that put on them in terms of their available options in life? 

Definitely a matter of taste. Personally, I think tattoos are ugly, especially on women. Most people seem to regret having them done later in life too.

Certainly when it comes to professional athletes who are making a fortune, it's not a big consideration from a social point of view, but for the average Joe? 

I would not have one myself. However, it's a matter of personal choice.

 

It's one of the first visual cues police use to assess socio-economic status. Which is somewhat ironic, as quite a few police have them too.

This has come up before. Why worry about what others do if it doesn't affect your life? People from all walks of life have gotten them all along. From the rich to the poor, hookers,and celebrities, men and women, doctors and the homeless, monks and rock stars, military and police. My dad had one and was a genius. I don't have any but all my children do, besides my 8 year old, but I'm sure it'll happen, seeing her siblings all have them. No ones business but theirs. let it go.

I would never have one and I think they look ridiculous on men.......but a subtle, attractive tattoo on an attractive female can be easy on the eye.

It's the power of the media as well, guys saw Beckham and other footballers, so they get decked out in tattoos.  Girls see hot guys have tattoos, they think this is what guys like, so they get tattoos.
