How many situations of you aware of where more guns have helped a situation, as opposed to made a situation much worse?

Where's the evidence that removing guns from society has had a negative impact on gun deaths? There isn't any.

Where's the evidence that having loads more guns around - even for the "good guys" - leads to less gun murders of innocent people. Pretty sure there isn't any.

The incidence of mass shootings has decreased considerably in Australia once gun ownership became much stricter.

Regarding criminals possessing guns, follow the Malaysian model: very strict laws for illegal possession, life or long term imprisonment.

Yiu can cherry-pick the years, but was trending down in the years before the ban, and it went up for about five years immediately after the ban. 

 

And take a look at the significant increase in law enforcement funding over tge same period.

Restricting legal gun owners in USA, wouldn't even come close to 55% less.  Guessing less that 10% drop.

And the boneheads are only talking about assault rifles, which only account for (as I remember) about 2% of homicides.
