Ban guns before you start praying

In Australia, it was a right-wing politician who brought in laws banning semi-automatic weapons.

He doesn't sound very right wing to me. The government taking away rights of the people, that sounds leftist. The right stands for rugged individualism and freedom. And that's the way I like it.

Americans have the right to own guns of their choice, to collect guns of their choice, and to use guns of their choice for sport. This is how it should be.

Well, it certainly could be because of the mental illness in Australia.  The government probably does not want a bunch of mentally ill people running around with guns.

Mental people are killers not guns.

Well it seems that the US goverment is more than happy to let bat-<deleted> crazy Americans run around with guns.   268 + mass shootings so far this year seems to confirm that.

I scanned a few of the threads about Gaza.

The same MAGAnistas blaming these two horrible deaths on "lefties" or LGBTQ+ are quite comfortable with tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian children blown up or starved to death. Innocent is innocent (unless you're a racist MAGAnista, though that is redundant).

Crocodile tears for the two poor kids in the church.

The self-hatred of MAGAnistas, who try to live vicariously through their fat, demented messiah, is the real "syndrome". Lifelong losers think they finally win something, albeit only in proxy through their false god.

It's also silly that MAGAnistas cherish only the 2nd Amendment. Like the clown in the Oval Office, they think it's time to change the 1st,  the 4th, the 14th and the 19th. Of course the freedoms noted in the 1st, 4th, and 19th are eternal and basic human rights. The Founders had no need to see into the future when they penned them. OTOH, the common weapon owned by citizens when Madison and Jefferson were writing was the musket. As bright as both men were, none could have imagined the AR-15, or even a semi-auto handgun. Congress has long put limits on what fits in the "right to bear arms". One cannot own a bazooka, or A-10 with a GAU-8 cannon that shoots depleted uranium rounds. Thus, there is no inherent right to own an AR-15.

Put the National Guard in Chicago and that number will drop substantially/

You're posting, but you're just masturbating in your own echo chamber. In no way am I comfortable with 15000 children dying in Palestine, and neither I suspect is Donald Trump.

There is an inherent right to bear arms in the USA, which is enshrined in the constitution, no specific type of firearm is excluded. Try again.

So a document written +/-240 years ago should be unamenable?

It is a right that was conferred by an amendment but they are very hard to pass, A bunch of hyper-paranoid gun nuts need their AR15s to fend off the government with their Apaches and Warthogs.

There are enough guns in the US for everyone to have one, everyone. Only a third of households have any though. Guess what other cohort is also about a third of the population. This means that the Apaches and Warthogs are pointed at the people without the guns.

An unbelievably stupid internet meme. Of course people AS A WHOLE are not the problem. The very vast majority of gun owners are highly responsible and careful individuals. It is only some people, a tiny minority, that is disturbed. I know you wouldn't think so reading AN, but that is the case.

If I had 1000 baht for the number of times I have seen the trope "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" in print, I'd be driving the latest Porsche. It's probably the most unoriginal and fatuous aphorism around.

America does not have mental people? A pathetic attempt at deflection.

A gun massacre is defined as when four or more people are killed. Since Port Arthur in 1996, Australia has had just 3 such incidents. Between 2014 and 2022, the USA had 4000.

The only gun reform we had was banning semi-automatic weapons. It's not hard to connect the dots. Or understand the lesson.

You are addicted to your guns, and you pay the price of the addiction almost weekly with innocent lives.

Meantime, the rest of the world regards you as trigger-happy idiots.

Who came up with that definition ?  Oh yeh, anti gun groups.

Do you know that they count the shooter in that number ? It matters.
Do you know that they count ALL shootings ? Even the gangbangers ? It matters because this group accounts for 78% of the remaining deaths
Do you know they count Law enforcement encounters too ? It matters

Do you know they count suicides ? It matters @ 58% of gun deaths

and on and on but you know that, it just doesn't fit your fantasy.

This is of course the one bright spot in the statistics.

It is, Darwin at work. Natural selection is a wonderful thing.

I share the sentiment about conservatives supporting super liberal gun control laws. I get really really sick of the phrase "thoughts and prayers", it means absolutely nothing. Are these people actually getting down on their knees and praying for the victims and their families, or are they just simply saying that inane and offensive trash when there's a microphone in front of them, which is sickening and disingenuous to the max.

Neither party seems to want to  address gun control in a serious manner, and every time the Democrats make an attempt, the Republicans block them.

The GOP lets the killing continue.

Everything has changed, and the amendment does not have the same meaning, nor should it. Violence is out of control, yet they do next to nothing about it. America seems to adore it's violence.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, a nonprofit that tracks shootings in the US, there were 214 mass shootings in 2022 alone.

The United States has far more lax firearm laws and policies compared to other countries — the federal right to own a firearm is even baked into the United States' constitution via the Second Amendment. And that is sick. Owning a few guns for self-defense in the home and for hunting, no problem. Owning 10, 15, or 20 firearms is just stupid and sicko.

Google John Howard.

When those laws were brought in, I could still legally own two rifles. My 0.222 could punch through a bulldozer blade.

Americans need to grow up. So do you.

I dont need to make a case for a right, especially when its enshrined in our constitution. Free men have rights  given to them as part of the natural order, I dont need to make any case for what I have.

Actually you do unless you think that your constitution is unamenable.

One definition of a right is that, 'a moral or legal entitlement to have or do something'

Many (most?) Individuals in the US  certainly currently have the legal entitlement to own a gun. However, to state the blindingly obvious, laws can, and are, amended.

Is there a moral right to own a gun? Good luck with trying to use that line of argument to justify gun ownership.

You should stick to things you understand, this isn't one of them.
I've owned 2 different bazookas and 2 different RPG's in America with live rounds.
We may not be able to own an A-10 yet but the day will come.

We can own the mini guns and the 20mm guns on them.  I sold a 20mm barrel and 600 rounds right before I came here.

Its only going to get better

Including suicides, gun-related deaths in Australia are ten times less than in America per 100,000 population. An unfortunate fact, not fantasy.

Every time there is a massacre, gun sales go up. Americans can't seem to get their heads around the proposition pouring gasoline on an existing fire does nothing to extinguish it.

If I want to have a firearm in Australia, I have to have a gun permit, and a shooter's licence. The applications for each are 30-40 A4 pages, and cost $200 - 400, depending on the state.

In the land of freedumb, how much paperwork is involved, and how much does it cost?

Varies greatly state by state , libtard crime ridden Democrat cities make it nearly impossible for a carry permit i.e every Americans inherit rite to bear arms.

Afraid of what? Transgenders? Normal folks dont need MAGA or Fox News to know that a dude who thinks he can be a woman by calling himself Velma isnt playing with a full deck.

It wasnt a fantasy. It was a wet dream (taken literally by you of course as you have no sense of irony or sarcasm). A skateboard is a deadly weapon. It wasnt a little gun, for this wet dream I chose a Congo FAL not an M4 because the ninjas with skateboards might be wearing body armour instead of umbrellas and trash can lid shields and I would want the penetration of the 7.62 over the 5.56.

You should note that my post was in response to your boys again calling for attacks on MAGA. Serious calls.

Well it wasnt that detailed, and it wasnt out of a movie, but it was a real life incident.

Dont forget how I blow the smoke off the flashhider before I dig into my hearty Jersey Mike Footlong that fits conveniently in my pants next to my other footlong. Jersey Mikes are a key facet of the wet dream, because when the Trooper comes up and says, wow, looks like Antifa picked on the wrong geezer, I can say, yeah dude, they yap great on the net, but are so stupid they think a skateboard trumps 20 rounds of 168grain TAP. Hey, want a bite of this, I got extra Jalapenos.

Yeah you can only exploit their deaths with a Socialist agenda.

Ban Trannies, not Guns.

Ridiculous LGBT hating post!

There's been around 300 school shootings per year in the US. Your LGBT hating pal cherry picked 5 cases by trans over several years.
