Police and local officials raided a pool villa in Cha-am, Phetchaburi, where 52 young men and women were allegedly holding a drug-fuelled party in the early hours of 27 August.

The joint operation, led by Provincial Police Region 7 officers, Cha-am police, and district officials, uncovered a large gathering aged between 16 and 28. Officers seized quantities of ecstasy, ketamine, methamphetamine pills, e-cigarettes and 30 mobile phones as evidence. All suspects were taken into custody for questioning at Cha-am Police Station.

Investigators said the raid followed intelligence linking the party to the wife of a drug suspect in Ratchaburi province, who was believed to have organised the gathering and invited friends to the rented property.

The caretaker of the villa told police the booking had initially been made for only seven or eight guests. However, once he had left the premises, the group invited dozens more people, swelling the number of attendees to 52.

Police confirmed that the villa itself was properly licensed for rental use and that the owner was not implicated in the case.

All detainees were recorded, formally charged with drug use and possession, and handed over to investigators to face prosecution.

What parent allow their 16 or 17 year old to go out in the wee hours to party on a school night.

Depends on how much they were being paid...

Oh please... putting aside the school night...my guess is very few were under 18. Moreover, individuals can leave school after M3 if they choose.

I'm 64 and back in my teens mid 70s (15-18) I used to go to house parties with friends and lot parties where 5 to 10 30L kegs of beer were flowing freely and everyone admitted. 100s of teens and young adults (15-20). I'd get far too drunk, met all sorts of hot girlies and amassed a laundry list of phone numbers.

Parents could be working too much, too hard. Broken families or kids just going without parents approval.

Sorry you missed out grandpa

Same happens in this widely popular "award winning" so called developpment of swanky pool villas at Hua Hin.

People pay fortunes for a stay in such pool villa developpements at the top range,  but unfortunately the falangs who manage the developpment, did or do tend to rent out the villas to the rif-raff from Bangkok who were causing havoc at their week-end parties.
