Import new PC into Thailand via mail order without import duties

Featured Replies

According to AI it is possible to import pcs and computer parts into Th without any import taxes. Can someone confirm please? For example an rtx 5090 is around 1900 euro in Germany (no vat included) so plus 7 percent thai vat if imported into th. In Th prices are around 3000 euro for an rtx 5900. Imho it should also be possible to import from us or other countries with just adding 7 %, too good to be true?

It's true, computer parts have just VAT - check this out, careful where you buy from though - I would only buy from Amazon Exports or you're on your own when it comes to import taxes...

The import charges on the above item which is incredibly expensive are about 7%, perhaps with a small added charge - but not much.

I've ordered various bits and pieces over the years.

Not sure exactly what parts in a computer are covered and which are not

Good luck finding an RTX 5090 though

Oh and just make sure it really is being shipped directly from Amazon Export Sales - it's shown for every product or they will hammer you on the customs - Amazon really do act as your import agent in some way here compared to buying direct from some random company, either directly or through whatever representative they have setup :

I use Amazon for lots of things all the time and always order from the US, make sure anything is dual voltage if ordering from the US.

I fully agree on your recommendation to use Amazon as there are adapt at handling the import/export documentation. 5090s are readily available in Germany on Amazon and other sellers. I will buy a complete PC with 5090.

Big thanks for your confirmation that pc parts are import duty exempt!

That must be like importing online a new GFE ( a girlfriend experience) into your country, having paid all of the import duties.

I read a few days ago here that Thailand Post was snail mail. FYI, I mailed off my SS form I receive once a year on 8/29/2025 to the US. The letter arrived on 9/02/2025 at the SS office per Thai Post tracking on my computer. FYI follow up for you readers here.

It's been 5 years since I imported my PC using Amazon, all import expenses paid to Amazon upfront beforehand on the full price of the product but at that time no choice on the shipping agent, they used UPS. UPS then hold your product at BKK customs unless you have already registered with them as an importer, easily done at no cost by giving them your passport at BKK customs but takes a few hours to register, not so easy if you live a long way from there.

EMS or Thai Courier, only way this could have happened, I sent mine with just tracking and it took almost two weeks.

Just saw a video that reports this can be done online now. You might want to investigate current news.

There's a thread on this. I imported a laptop and it cost 1800 Baht in processing fee and other fees. That's all.

Took 4 days.

More affirmation needed? Other members have confirmed that using Amazon Export Sales is bulletproof and I will add my personal affirmation with my order being delivered in Bahn Nawk via DHL. A few days later, a small credit popped up in my charge card account.

Just do it.

Source please.  SS states very clearly that Online is not accepted.
