Nurse Seriously Injured After Lorry Wheel Smashes Into Car

A male nurse was left fighting for his life on 28 August, after a set of lorry wheels came loose and crashed onto his car roof as he drove along a main road in Pathum Thani.

 

The incident happened at around 09.30 on the Pathum Thani–Lat Lum Kaeo road, close to the Lat Lum Kaeo ring road bridge. Police and rescue workers arrived to find a car badly damaged, its roof crushed by a detached lorry wheel.

The driver, later identified as Mr Kittiphun, 45, a hospital nurse, was found unresponsive with severe head injuries. Emergency responders performed CPR at the scene before rushing him to hospital in a critical condition.

 

Investigators said the wheel appeared to have fallen from an unidentified heavy goods vehicle travelling in the area. Police are now reviewing nearby CCTV footage to determine the vehicle involved and to bring the driver to justice.
