  • You would go to a bank that has external ATM and passbook updating machines outside their location, deposit 100 baht, then update the bank book. 😕    Not ideal but something that can be plan

  • Affects us all: They put ridiculous limits on daily transactions while they close branches. It really sucks.

  • Curious as to how folk make deposit on day of application for extension if they do not have a bank branch at CW.  Yes I'm aware BBL have ATM option for that.    Branch (Kasikorn)  where

Hi

is anyone aware of CW immigration allowing Kasikorn bank passbook being updated the day before ( as opposed to insisting on same day ) yet ? Please share your experience .Thank you

Really hoping we will get a report regarding that.

My extension Oct 8 and having to go to a bank branch away from CW would be huge headache.

Haven't tried update in machine as yet.

Even that's a huge task.

As noted in a previous thread, if your funds are in a fixed deposit account, you cannot use the ATM machines to update the bank book.

Only over-the-counter -- at least that is for SCB.

Apologies if I missed an earlier post, but whhat are you referring to? The 'on-the-day' 100-baht update that must be done at a teller and not an ATM? The one you do AFTER you received the bank statement printed at the counter (like a day earlier) plus the letter of ownership of account? Or are you referring to trying to update the bank book for the previous 12 months at the ATM to show immigration?

CW want to see update of bank book and (sometimes) activity in the account on day of application.

Some folk just make a token deposit/withdrawal to  achieve both.

BBL customers apparently can use machine to update.

Some banks eg SCB and now Kasikorn no longer have branches there.

has anyone used the kasikorn bank atm at IT square Laksi  to update their bank book the day of

retirement visa extension .? is this the closest kasikorn atm to immigration div 1 ? any other closer location?

Thanks

I believe you have to make a deposit/withdrawal to update the passbook on the day with Kasikorn.

Yup. Wanted to increase my internet/app daily limit from 50K to 180K for a one off transac. K-Bank wanted my photo, wifes ID card & our tax # (not have one.). I said "Cancel".

They suggested I should plan for these things & withdraw monies over a number of days.

Walked over to the teller & withdrew cash.🙃🙃

@ ronnie50     It is my undersanding that ATMs are not able to be used for transactions for a fixed deposit account with SCB.  Regular savings accounts -- yes.  But, fixed deposit -- no, as I was informed several years ago by SCB bank staff.

If anyone knows otherwise, please share experience.

It is important since, if an ATM can't be used to update a SCB fixed deposit bank book, then you have to wait until a branch opens to do an over-the-counter transaction -- which IMMO/CW requires on the day of applying for an extension.  And, then proceed to IMMO to process the extension.

There in lies the problem.

Banks at malls etc open at 11am.

At CW 8.30am.

If I need to update on the day of application (Kasikorn) this will be huge issue.

looks like no one has tried to update kasikorn  bank passbook the day before ( like the one  scb  customer who mentioned before has been doing it for a while now without any problems ),

The closest kasikorn atm where you can update the passbook same day is at big C cheang wattana 2 ( pak ret)  open at 8:00am , a 15 min taxi ride from immigration . or take a chance with a day before update and see what happens !!!

Update . went today with a day before updated kasikorn bank passbook and was rejected ( they know the branch has closed down ). CW wants same day Kasikorn bank updated bank passbook !!!!!! ( they said go to IT square and do it )

Yes. I had to update my SCB book on the same day every single time, which would usually involve my wife driving me to SCB branch 1-2 hrs before we arrived to CW

1. Thanks for report.

2. Just reinforces my opinion of extensions. I cannot post as would be banned.

Your update one day prior was rejected. Ridiculous.

I also bank with Kasikorn.

My next extension is Oct 8 .

I have found a Kasikorn bank not to far that opens 8.30(not a mall)

With mobility issues this is huge challenge.

I speaking for all older folk not just myself.

Again what a ridiculous requirement.

You already provided bank book copies + maybe even bank statement and of course bank letter.

At least you had wife to assist.

For me to go to Laksi would be extremely difficult.

@docinbangkok  very much appreciated that you took the time to post your experience.  It will help many TVM. My visit will be mid October.

could you specify which visa extension, marriage based v retirement.
