No. Make a will today. If you *handwrite* it yourself, date it and sign it, it's a valid will in Thailand.

If you need advice about your will,  it's free to all who live in Thailand from the Office of the Attorney General.

People dying without a will leave a huge headache for everyone - don't be one of them.

If you don't touch the 800K throughout the year, then you're as well to put those funds in a Fixed term deposit account, to avoid such mistakes and earn a better interest rate.

There are reports that fixed term accounts are questionable and that immigration require an account that is used regularly.

Reports where, and please don't say X, Facebook or the local bar.

Provided the funds are in an account type immediately accessible, it's acceptable.

What Province or Immigration Office?

This does not match my experience either, having used a fixed account for my extension for 20+ years at CW.  I find it difficult to believe without a link to more information , who/where/when and the complete details of the circumstances.

But don't forget that the Banks are closed from 5pm to 9am, and weekends. So if you do not have a card or phone access,or a Fixed account, the money is NOT immediately accessible.

Done it, via a template downloaded, signed by myself and two English witnesses, in both Thai and English.

I have not been contacted by BBL. My home branch is now a bit out of the way

Feeling  a danging sword of damocles is about to drop suddenly

Would one be advised to pop by with all documents now?

Or to crib another idiom leave sleeping dogs lie?

Been there and done this. Accidentally paid a house deposit from my 810k THB immigration account instead of day to day expenses account of 50kTHB within the 3 month period from extension of stay. Righted the error within an hour or so. Went the next year to renew my extension with the yearly statements of my immigration account and pass book. Nothing was said! This was at Hia Hin Immigration Office.

I wouldn't worry.
They may already have sufficient details of yourself, if not they'll contact you.
As I stated, the emphasis appeared to be establishing my Immigration status (Non Imm + 1 year extension) plus proof of a previous overseas address.

Why would my comment about banks not being open 24/7/365 need any of the above comments please?

You stated the obvious.

Any immediate access would mean 'within working days and hours'.

There are always Wacky immigration offices.

The statement and letter is valid for 7 days and are used at "normal offices"

We all need to be aware of the games various offices play.

More to do with the size of the Immigration office and the number of foreigners that pass through its door every day.
No need for appointments at my IO, I can pick up a statement, update the passbook, obtain the verification leet, whilst the wife obtains an updated KR2 from the Amphoe, visit Immigration and be back home all within 2 1/2 hours.
Rarely more than 2 foreigners processing something, with 4 counters available for service.

Also, unlike the likes of CW, you can process an extension application, submit a 90 day report and obtain a re-entry permit all at the same counter, without queuing.

I wouldn't call that a 'wacky' office.

Sure it does at times, some fall off the stem and hit a lower branch and bounce off and hit the bottom of a cliff.

My reply was, to you stating ...

RoiEt required bank statement etc same day as application.

Cut/paste below.

So yes that's crazy aka wacky.

The bank statement and bank letter are valid for 7 days.

How lovely (for you) your office has very few customers.

"Roi Et insist statement, updated passbook, letter all dated the same day as submission, and that the totals on all 3 match"

So how do you know that I am a 'chip off the old block' or 'like Father like son'.

Please stop with allsorts of silly sayings which do not apply. You need to ask AI the meanings of your quotes.

Does it say, in Thai, within working days and hours?

That is an option if you didn't have the second account with sufficient to cover shortfall.

You mentioned shortfall was "few minutes" In reality it's highly unlikely that they would refuse your extension.

Re your reference to Kasikorn... It's only BBL that takes days to provide 12 month bank statement.

Other banks can do it on the spot.

Note: The process at the branch does take time say 40mins.

Suggest folk obtain bank statement day or two prior and on day of application update bank book.

Can i use the bank statements that i can request and print myself from my online web BKK bank account?

No

Couple of offices may accept statement printed by you using app. Lack of training.

The print outs ain't worth the paper the are printed on

I have just use one account in Thailand, with an iphone banking app etc how can you make a mistake, it is all there in black and white right in front of your nose?

How difficult can such simple things be?

As for one of the comments where a wife or girlfriend used an ATM card to withdraw money from the farangs account thus putting it in deficit, that can not happened is my case as my partner has her own money she earns from her own business.

Why is it in Thailand most guys seem to pay everything for their Thai girlfriend/wife when the rest of the world does not?

Are they on hire purchase or something similar.

That differs according to the respective Immigration office.
At CW maybe, at others it can be different.

Nothing in black and white about the validity of bank statements or verification letters, it's completely at the discretion of a particular office.

Where does it say 'anytime' in any language.

For all my extensions so far I requested bank statements via my Bangkok Bank app which are emailed to me, I print them out and also copy and print all of the pages from my bank book, I get an official verification letter from the bank on the morning I go to the immigration office in Phuket and they are always accepted.

Concur with Jack.
Immigration should only accept bank statement issued and printed by the bank, which are authenticated and certified.
By that, I mean the bank stamps and signs the statement.
Same with the verification letter.

I know the IOs are not open when the banks are closed anyway.

I do apologise realising it was not you who came up with alternatives to the apple idiom. Sorry.
