That group are not the only ones who oppose a certain inmate status, nearly everyone I speak to agree with it, 

The man came back knowing full well what his sentence going to be, serve it, and be free to run for office again

either himself or by proxy, honesty and clean record is not an issue voting for pollical office in this country.

he cannot run for office  he has a conviction  he is a convicted felon has a criminal record which lasts a life time  unless it is sealed by the court or it is expunged again by the court

By proxy, like he did with his daughter that acted as a front for him, but she wasn't very smart woman and couldn't

Equally wrong if not more so. Excess of the military are while wrong, are understandable because soldiers are not trained for civilian interaction. Police on the other hand are supposed to be able to manage civilians without torturing or killing them. We all know Thailand's police are too often corrupt and unprofessional. Unfortunately, you work with what you have.

Not accurate. That position came about only when there were significant protests. Please check the historical record.

action was taken after his birthday speech and he pointed out that thaskin was to blame  ( Mr Thaksin "who makes decisions, it is natural that you alone should be pinpointed".)   yes there were significant protests both in thailand and the western world  the war on drugs is thailands shame
