You make some valid points about Chauvin, however, the BLM movement was formed after numerous examples of police shooting black people in previous months/years (Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Ezell Ford, Tamir Rice, Stephon Clark, Breonna Taylor - it's a long list!).  The rioting was an understandable way for the powerless to show their feelings.

But I think the BLM were worse, not for ideological reasons, but because they went on for months, many more people were killed and injured, and much more damage was done.
