Two teenagers have been arrested in Bangkok after a brazen shooting incident left one person seriously injured. The attack occurred in the early hours of 12 September 2025 on Suk Sawat Road, Ratchathewi District, with victims shot in the knee and neck. Police confirmed that the perpetrators had previously challenged each other via social media.

The suspects, identified as 18-year-old Mr Sukrit and a 17-year-old referred to as Mr A, were taken into custody following warrants issued by Thonburi Criminal Court and the Juvenile and Family Court on 12 September. Authorities discovered them hiding at a residence on Soi Phetkasem 48, Bangkok, at around 19:50 the same day. Both suspects admitted their involvement in the shooting.

Police seized the clothing worn during the crime, which had been hidden under a motorcycle seat, while the firearm was discarded in the Chak Phra Canal in Taling Chan District. The suspects had used a brown Honda City during the incident and claimed that the shooting stemmed from a social media challenge.

Bangkok Metropolitan Police, led by senior officers including Pol Lt Gen Siam Boonsom and Pol Maj Gen Surachet Bandit, coordinated the investigation alongside local precinct officers. The police emphasised that all parties would be treated fairly while ensuring that those responsible face the law.

The arrested individuals have been handed over to Bang Kho Laem Police Station for formal charges, which include attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms, carrying weapons in public and discharging explosives without reason. Police investigations continue to determine whether further accomplices or motives were involved.
