Police in Mae Ramat district, Tak, have arrested a 23-year-old man for the fatal stabbing of his 32-year-old wife in their rented riverside home. The incident occurred on 15 September 2025 in Moo 3, Mae Ramat subdistrict. Officers were alerted after neighbours reported loud arguments and cries for help.

The victim, identified as Ms Nini Phiu, a Myanmar national and karaoke bar worker, was found dead inside a single-storey row of houses. Her body was partially covered with a black plastic bag and showed multiple severe stab wounds, with blood covering the floor. The suspect, Mr Jotruth, was discovered at the scene smoking and speaking incoherently.

During questioning, Jotruth admitted he had attacked his wife out of jealousy, believing she was involved with another man. He said the attack followed a meal and alcohol consumption, during which he confronted her and she denied any affair. He then used a knife to stab her repeatedly until she died and planned to dismember the body before authorities arrived.

Local officials, including District Chief Mr Prinya Sairoj and Police Superintendent Mr Wichien Phetsena, oversaw the crime scene and coordinated the arrest. Jotruth was taken into custody and made to reenact the incident for police records. Authorities confirmed that he will face criminal charges for murder.

Jotruth remains in police custody as investigations continue. Legal proceedings are underway, and the district authorities will monitor the case to ensure full compliance with criminal law.
