Thailand Post has launched a new set of commemorative stamps to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Singapore. The release highlights the long-standing bond between the two nations, with designs created collaboratively by artists from both countries. The stamps, priced at 5 baht each, are available at the Thailand Post Museum, post offices nationwide and online through the ThailandPostMart website and application.

The Thai stamp was designed by local artist Thanet Ponchaiwong and features the Tha Chang Old Town buildings, historic structures along the Chao Phraya River. These buildings once served as a major trading hub in Bangkok, representing a period of prosperity and cultural exchange. The Singaporean stamp, created by Ivory Seah from Singapore Post, depicts the Temple Street Old Town buildings, a row of shophouses in Singapore’s Chinatown that reflect the cultural heritage of the overseas Chinese community.

Both designs were created using a watercolour technique and are intended to symbolise the shared cultural and historical foundations of Thailand and Singapore. The release marks six decades of formal diplomatic ties, reflecting how relations between the two countries have grown since their establishment. The collaborative project was conceived as both a celebration and a reminder of the partnership’s historical depth.

Dr Dhanant Subhadrabandhu, CEO of Thailand Post, said the collection demonstrates more than just a record of history. “They reflect the strong relationship between Thailand and Singapore, which has grown side-by-side for 60 years,” he said. He added that stamps act as a “powerful medium for storytelling and connecting the cultures of our two nations.”

Dr Dhanant expressed pride in the collaboration, describing the issue as one that “reflects beauty, cooperation, and lasting friendship through a small yet valuable collection of stamps.” The release underlines the role of philately in promoting cultural ties and documenting important milestones in bilateral relations. The 60-year mark is seen as both a celebration of past cooperation and a foundation for future engagement.

The commemorative stamps are expected to attract interest from both philatelists and members of the public who value the historical and cultural connections between the two countries. With the joint issue, Thailand Post and Singapore Post signal their commitment to strengthening the partnership in new and creative ways. As both nations look ahead, such initiatives are likely to continue reinforcing the cultural and diplomatic ties established over the past six decades.
