Refund takes up to 45 days

Featured Replies

For once I paid an order on Shopee with my debit card, since COD was not available.

Had to send it back and got refunded, but payment doesn't arrive in my bank, and Kasikorn doesn't see an incoming transaction either.

Shopee says it may take up to 45 days, while COD refunds are always instantly.

Anyone know the reason, and is this Shopee or the bank that creates the delay?

They are saying up to 45 days, based on all the banks, in this case Kasikorn

I do understand that, but the question is why it takes that long, when refunds on orders paid by COD can be instant.

It's 7 days already now, and when I called Kasikorn, they didn't see any incoming transfer.

The Kasikorn employee was probably clueless, common

Had this with Noc Noc ordered a new aircon plus service scan QR code paid one hour later seller no stock 18 days to get 22,000bt for the aircon unit back another 10 days to get back 5000bt service install never again for me 🤔

Send an inquiry to the head office

I had this recently with Booking.com. I was in Vietnam and booked a resort at Hoi An, a second after confirming the booking I received a message saying the booking couldn't go through and I would receive a full refund. The dosh had instantly gone from my bank acocunt, and I was told by Booking.com the money would be back in my bank but would take 7-14 days. I was mega pee'd off and got on to them but just got the usual blah-blah. The money appeared back in my account a week later.

Billing cycle for a credit card.  Works the same as you may get just over a month to almost two months interest free depending on when the purchase was made compared to the statement date.

Shopee probably process CC refunds once a month and that combined with the banks procedures give this big window to cover the worst possible case.

Oops.

Probably the once a month bit is right then put some padding in to allow for bank processes.

I have no idea. Shopee support says the refund has been processed.

It's not a huge amount, and I'm sure it will arrive sometime in the future, but it isn't right in my view.

Payment was taken off my account instantly, so I expect the same when there is an issue.

In the future I will skip orders that allow only card payments

You can expect what you like but that's not how card payments work. Whilst an erroneous transaction can be 'reversed' immediately in a shop, it's not possible with online payments.

Maybe try to comprehend what is written in the OP before sharing your "wisdom".

This is not about reversing a payment, it's refund that was issued and takes 7 - 45 days to arrive on my account.

In the meantime it has been deposited, after 10 days

Booked a flight for my girlfriend, Nok air. Nok air cancelled the flight, 45 days return money.

Here's the kicker, they reimbursed fare into my girlfriend's bank account. 😂

You're the one with comprehension issues. I know it was online and not in a store and that's why  it couldn't be reversed, which is why it takes longer to refund than to take in the first place. I was explaining the wait. You're obviously not very bright, like most on here.

As you're clearly struggling, let's make it really simple for you.

You said:

In my post, I answered this question. The only time a Visa payment can be 'refunded' immediately is by reversing it straight after an erroneous transaction (which is only normally possible in a shop, for obvious reasons). You bought online, so that was never going to happen, hence the difference between COD refunds and your card refund. Why are you incapable of understanding plain English?

(N.B. As someone must have pointed out already, the 45 day upper limit is to cover themselves for credit card billing cycles, surely you are aware of that?)

Top Tip: Try to focus more on engaging intelligently with other people rather than desperately trying to prove you're more intelligent than you obviously are. That way you'll embarrass yourself less often.
