A 26-year-old man was seriously injured after snatching the handbag of an 18-year-old woman and attempting to flee on a motorcycle before colliding with a pickup truck in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima, early on 21 September. Police said the suspect, identified as Mr. Wanchana, was unconscious at the scene and taken to Pak Chong Nana Hospital under custody for investigation. The victim, identified as Ms. June, was left shaken but unhurt.

The incident was reported around midnight to Pak Chong Police Station. The Deputy Inspector (Investigation), responded along with the Chief Investigator and other officers. At the scene near Soi Ratchapracha on Mittraphap Road, officers found the injured suspect lying face down after his motorcycle collided forcefully with a black pickup truck about 100 metres from the theft site.

Police also found the victim, an 18-year-old woman, in front of a shop called U-Like, where the theft occurred. She told officers she had been standing with friends when she noticed a suspicious young man riding a motorcycle repeatedly past them. She said she placed money from her handbag into her trouser pocket, leaving only 40 baht in the bag, before the suspect suddenly snatched it.

The victim screamed for help and ran after the suspect, only to find his motorcycle had almost immediately crashed into a pickup truck, throwing him onto the roadside. Rescue workers provided first aid before transporting him to hospital. Officers said initial evidence, including witness statements and the position of the bag, indicated that Mr. Wanchana was the thief.
