An unidentified man was found dead floating in Bang Khun Thian canal in Bangkok on the night of 20 September 2025. Residents discovered the body around 23:00 and secured it near the pier opposite Bang Khun Thian Temple on Soi Chom Thong 13 before notifying police. Emergency responders, including forensic doctors from Siriraj Hospital and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, arrived at the scene.

The victim is estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old, with a medium build, dark reddish skin and a height of approximately 160–165 cm. He was found face down in the water wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt and black three-quarter jeans, barefoot. Visible injuries included a one-centimetre cut across the left eyebrow, swollen bruising around both eyes and bleeding from the left eye.

Authorities reported that no identification or valuables were found on the body. It is estimated that the man had been deceased for around 48 hours prior to discovery. Police and forensic teams are working to determine the cause of death and identify the deceased.

Officials emphasised the importance of forensic examination in establishing whether the injuries were caused before or after death. Community members and law enforcement are cooperating to locate any relatives or next of kin. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning residents in the surrounding area as part of the inquiry.

The body has been sent to Siriraj Hospital for a post-mortem to establish the precise cause of death. Authorities will continue efforts to identify the man and notify his family. Any further legal action or investigation will depend on the findings of the forensic examination.
