That's exactly why Farage will never become PM—pandering to that kind of divisive hate alienates the vast majority of voters who value inclusivity and reject xenophobia.

  • Not devisive at all, once they've all gone. Muslims add nothing but trouble to any country    I'd be happy to hear of any country where Muslims live in peace and prosperity, without harming

Another Brexit benefit. Legal immigration wasn't much of an issue when we were an EU member.

And even less before we joined.

Anyone who thinks that the chief cheerleader of the catastrophe that was brexit will make a good leader is seriously misguided. I will grant you that he is a great communicator, but in reality he is nothing more than a charlatan who panders to the worst base instincts of a minority of the electorate. He offers no real solutions to the myriad of domestic and international problems that the UK faces. Didn't he insist that brexit would restore the UK's sovereignty? If he kicks out all the immigrants, who will prop up the NHS, staff the care homes, harvest crops....? Its the easiest thing in the world to say what is wrong, and to advocate pie in the sky, quick-fix policies that will never see the light of day and have no real-life consequences.

You're entitled to your points of view, even if they are all wrong.

You are making sweeping statements that are simply not true, no matter how much you want it so, and confusing legal immigration with illegal immigration as is often the case with people of your persuasion.  While there is currently strong public opinion regarding stopping the boats and illegal immigration ( less than 5% of total immigration), a majority do not support the return of immigrants that are legally in the UK (in excess of 95%), which is what the proposed bill concerns.

Wonder if he might get raided by the police .

Some people seem rather vexed.

Which makes it rather odd that they are in Thailand. Thai Immigration Policy ( Including IDC's and deportations ) must make them sick to the bottom of their little cotton socks.

How can they live in such a place ?

When I read the title , I thought why not begin with the illegals first,

but that is implied and will get the most support.

How do you know a majority do not support the return of some legal immigrants ?

From the article :forcing migrants with permanent residency to reapply under stricter conditions. The new rules would demand higher salaries, stronger English proficiency, and bar foreign nationals from accessing welfare.

This will get greater support.

"many expected to leave voluntarily once benefits are withdrawn"

Even better.

Of course the left have a bigger voice to oppose this all.

Ever thought that some of us are in Thailand to escape from countries

with replacement migration ?

The announcement comes after one of Britain’s largest Right-wing rallies, where around 100,000 protesters led by Tommy Robinson marched through London chanting anti-migration slogans.

Again shame on AN to copy this lie from the telegraph.

I was of course referring to the hiss boo crowd, who think that the UK should continue taking in every waif and stray, fake asylum seekers, foreign criminals and anyone else that fancies rocking up in the UK.

Yes , I should have written it differently.

You're not one of the hiss-boo crowd.

And the thumbs down was not me.

The Labour Party was going to sort out immigration, one of the things that got them in, nothing happened, Farage is doing the same thing to get in.

Farage is a Trump fanboy, not to be trusted.......🥴

Personally I would like to take a slightly softer tone and have a massive expansion of pig' farming and a bacon slicer on every street corner in Nigel's next manifesto 🤔

Zia yusuf, is a nasty, right wing racist 😀😀

He confirms Reform would get rid of indefinite leave to remain.

It would replace it with a renewable work visa, with the qualifying salary “materially higher than it is today”.

People with a criminal conviction would be banned.

And foreign nationals would be banned from getting welfare, he says.

Oddly enough, pretty much mirrors what i said above

Different times. Bit before my time but, unfortunately, the anti-immigrant brigade were out in force then as well.

Disagree. Immigration has been an increasing concern for many since the EU was formed and after Blair got in.

Two things to say at the outset: 1) I am only talking about legal immigration here and 2) imo most Brits are welcoming and accept immigrants

However, unfortunately, there have always been a minority who have complained about immigrants, often for no better reason than they don't like the colour of their skin or their accent. This sentiment existed way before the UK joined the EU (EEC). The Irish, the Windrush generation, the Ugandan Asians are examples. Go back centuries and the Huguenots and European Jewish migrants also suffered some discrimination.

Wrt the EU specifically. Imo freedom of movement was a success and contributed to a (relatively) efficient labour market. In theory, pre-Brexit an EU national could hop onto Eurostar in Brussels or Paris at 10:00 and be serving behind a bar in London, picking fruit or working in a care home at midday: Worker happy, employer happy, customer (probably) happy. Contrast that with the hoops that EU nationals have to jump through now to get a work visa for such jobs, and the red tape and cost to the UK employer. Of course, the same applied - and applies - to UK workers heading to the continent.

Hopefully it won't happen, but if it ever gets to the stage where I am incapable of looking after myself the last things I'm going to worry about is the colour of the skin, accent, country of birth or religion of the person caring for me. I'll just be very grateful that they are there.

I don't trust Farage. I do trust Tommy. It's Tommy or nothing as far as Im concerned. Was in todays Daily Mail that Farage said that Begum lass isn't too bad and he wouldnt mind her returning to Britain. Says it all.

Ohhh Tommy. Tommy Tommy Robinson. An absolute hero.

And what of the different hiss boo brigade in Thailand who have no intention of returning to the UK and are therefore immune to the effects of Brexit, UK immigration, etc,  but insist that the drawbridge should be raised. Why should their voices be heard? Simply because of an accident of birth?

Why the straw man ? Because you have nothing else ?

Every UK Taxpayers voice should be heard. Regardless of where they might be in the World.

Immigration was seen by 58 percent of people in the UK as one of the top three issues facing the country in September 2025. The economy was the second-most important issue for voters this month, ahead of health as a distant third. These three issues have consistently been identified as the most important issues for voters.

58% is a lot of voices.

1 of the reasons that Labour are currently tanking faster than a big bag of fast things.

they may not actively overtly" support" repatriation  it but they are not protesting against it either. It will be difficult to get a real indication of peoples feelings towards immigration now as many are scared of the possible consequences of speaking up

Due to the disappointing results of previous attempts at  deportation I see no other option for them to "think big" and put them all in the sights, with a bit of luck another half dozen might eventually get sent back after a few years

It wouldn't surprise me at all, as his opponents are desperate enough to orchestrate something like that, an out of context quote is all it takes and bingo   hate speech  full force of the law etc etc

Yeah yeah, of course.

Which freedoms have been lost and how is wrapping yourself in flags, getting lagered up and pissing against buildings going to get them back exactly?
