A young man was critically injured in Pattaya following a violent assault that escalated from an argument over filming. The attack occurred in the early hours of September 22 behind Tukcom Mall in South Pattaya, after an argument turned violent when the victim recorded his attacker.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Phuttharak Sonkhamhan reported that the incident began with a verbal clash earlier in the evening, which resumed later in an alleyway. The victim, 20-year-old Anocha Trongsunyadee, was found unconscious with severe head injuries and was immediately transferred to Pattaya City Hospital.

Anocha remains in critical condition, closely monitored for potential brain damage. Witnesses described the suspect—a young man who, angered by being filmed, violently attacked Anocha before fleeing the scene. The attack was recorded on the victim’s phone, offering critical evidence for the police.

The suspect fled on a motorcycle reportedly linked to a local taxi group, and authorities are focused on apprehending him. Residents and local business owners have expressed concern over frequent violent disputes among young men in nightlife areas.

Looking ahead, police are pursuing leads to quickly locate and question the suspect about the assault. Authorities aim to increase safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Too many tik tok and youtube would be film directors roaming Pattaya and posting stuff on line.

No respect for people's privacy. Some deserve a slap.

These taxi riders operate at sub-Saharan intelligence and impulse control levels.  They seem unable to grasp the consequences of their actions.

I have been to the Sahara and the people there are more intelligent by far.

They seem to think they have a right to film anyone in a public place. This is a belief they have perhaps imported from  their home countries along with a little arrogance. It is also not true here.

You have no right to privacy anyplace viewable from public areas

I think the victim started recording as he suspected an attack, as the argument from earlier was going to continue.  Not like he was randomly filming and the guy got upset, as they apparently got into earlier.

Avoid the nutters out there, and usually at the tourist area, and why we have no interest in them.

BE SAFE

Were they both drunk?

Spend a night out drinking and take a risk with the violence it brings out in people.

Head injuries are scary. I wonder if the brain ever fully recovers and if you get a fairly serious head injury you are headed for dementia in old age.

Says who..... ?

A person does not have the right to video record someone against their will even in a public place in Thailand. Perhaps you are thinking of another country?

AFter effects of the jinn jab 19 I'd say.

Too many young men hopped up on the devil's blood juice, Red Bulls and whatnots - deadly combinations!

Keep your eyes peeled for coming reports of drop dead heart attacks, 20-30 somethings.

Correct. The brain does not fully recover from a moderate to serious closed head injury and earlier dementia is highly likely to occur along with other memory and personality changes.

Note: Multi orthopaedic acure  trauma and neurological as well as Sports rehabilitation were my areas of training.

The best self defence is to stay away from known dangers.
