'The person most likely to kill you is your doctor.'

If you don't take care of your health and go on a concoction of pharmaceuticals for years and years, yes this can cause problems. But is it the doctor killing you? Or is just the fact that pharmaceuticals cannot undue poor diet and lifestyle forever?

But a chronic illness being treated with pharmaceuticals for decades is not the same as a vaccine.

This is another one of your bull<deleted> websites. English site registered in France.

The article defames a number of high profile scientists many of which are now part of the US governments.

Poorly written and weakly argued. This is just pablum for a link. So, you write the lie, slap in the link which no one questions. Instant authority. Nope, nope and nope

The site grifts into https://science.feedback.org/

The board of trustees are totally suspect. I checked each one.

Looking at your history you've been posting this stuff for years.

You definitely belong in this thread.  Science Feedback is suspect???

Science ----or-------- Cults

Yes it can be confusing (for some)

How about    Science ----or-------- Pfizer   ?

What ailments have you cured yourself of through "Nature"?

What is "nature" exactly?

Or .... let me guess ... you've never had any health issues in your entire life?

They should study you in a lab. You're "a freak".

Probably, but mostly how to save lives, unlike you, you want folk to die via your silly ideas......

You still haven't answered my question about you accepting medication from big pharma if your life was on the line, why is that......?  🤔

Now, now Sir. Don't get over-excited.

You are nature. Nature is you. Understanding nature is all yer need for a great health life.

However, I would suggest that if yer get an arrow in yer back, get to a hospital ASAP.

In my opinion; if people respected, and loved nature, the only part of a hospital that would remain, is A & E. The rest can be dumped.

Start a cult.

You got the gift of the gab for it.

When you can combine 2 sentences that barely mean anything and are inverted and match and sound poetic, you know you've got the makings of a cult leader.

If I had a machete stuck in me nut, I'd definitely want a doc to take a look.

But a general body detox symptom; no way.

You forgot "Science --- or --- Science"

As in most things scientific, there are different conclusions from different scientists even if they're looking at the same data.  Sadly, the only "Science" that generally gets published is the "Science" coming from the people who fund the studies and pay the peer reviewers and spend $billions on advertising.  Even if they're advertising boner pills (as if they don't sell themselves), what they're really paying for is the leverage to tell the media what it's okay to say.

Quite right, there are different types of science. Best to look at the science published by the scientists who did the scientific research. Don't listen to scientists who are in a completely different field of science, like medical general practitioner (MD) commenting on the work of a scientist who is an expert in the field.

Independent vaccine research paper ------or------- advertisement for vaccine

That is a dodge answer, obviously because you will open yourself up to ridicule if you told the truth.............:whistling:

Why do I keep thinking you knock on folks doors on a Sunday morning trying to sell them the Watchtower publication.........🤥

The defining characteristic of a cultist is a propensity to become hostile towards those who break away from the cult.

17 hours ago, TallGuyJohninBKK said:

Anti-vaxxers are using the same tactics as cults do to attract followers on social media

Editor’s Note: Steven Hassan, PhD, is a licensed mental health professional and one of the leading experts on cults and undue influence in the world. A former member of the Moonie cult, Hassan left the group 45 years ago and has dedicated his life to helping people out of cults and destructive situations.

...

"Anti-vaccination groups are doing the same thing today. ...these groups use social media to bombard their targets with messages that sow doubt, fear and confusion about the Covid-19 vaccine. As a result, a significant portion of the US population is refusing to get vaccinated and putting themselves at risk of being hospitalized or dying from Covid-19.

Here are three specific ways anti-vaccination groups use deception to influence the public:

Withholding vital information

...

"Anti-vax influencers tout anecdotes of adverse reactions without mentioning how rare they are. These anecdotes are a form of phobia indoctrination. Anti-vaxxers withhold information about the vaccines, causing people to fear that by getting vaccinated, they would be putting themselves at a high risk of severe side effects. The reality is that instances of serious negative physical reactions to the vaccine are very rare."

Distorting information

Anti-vax groups distort information by misinterpreting data and casting doubt on the scientific process. ... Anti-vax campaigns to distort information remind me of the way fears were implanted in me when I was a Moonie. I was programmed to hate democracy and believe that it was Satanic. After deprogramming, I realized that the Moonies had used corrupt brainwashing tactics on me to support their anti-democratic political agenda.

Outright lying

Anti-vaccination social media campaigns spew outright lies to sow doubt and confusion about the vaccination process. ... When people are not properly informed, deciding whether or not to get vaccinated can be a scary decision. People are constantly exposed to lies about the vaccines online, including false claims that they alter DNA or lead to infertility. Of course, we know that billions of doses have been administered worldwide. That is a huge sample size, and the absence of any widespread serious side effects speaks to the vaccine’s safety."

Given what I saw between March 2020 and over the next three years until just recently, the "I Believe The Science," "Make sure to wear your masked even while driving alone in your car," "Stay 6 feet apart - that's the Science," and "Make sure to get your shots and your boosters."  The people engaging in that hyperbole seem to me to be the most cult-like.

My guess is that Steven Hassan, PhD has all of his Covid shots and boosters, probably still wears a mask in public or when he's with a patient, probably puts the patient chair a full 3 meters away from the patient he is seeing but a minimum of 6 feet away, and no doubt tells his patients to "Trust The Science."  You know, sort of cult-like.

No, a cult is when you follow orders without any facts. Like skipping vaccines.

I wonder how many of those who refused to allow family members to attend holiday get-togethers unless they were current on all of their shots, the agreed to wear a mask, and agreed to maintain "proper social distance - are still engaging in the cult-like behavior in 2025?

That is setting limits on delusional outliers. Flat-earthers are not welcome, too bad.

If I were to summarise the current prevailing sentiment in one word, I would say 'apathy'.

People do try avoid the subject as much as possible, from what I have observed, make of that what you will.

Exactly  'compliance'   often hard to even convince cultists that they are in a cult..so It's said.

Some people - and I include some members on AN - refuse to consider any change to their thinking, because it would make then feel silly.

But it not their fault; well, not completely. Many have been listened to stuff that just ain't so, for so long** that they can't see things any other way.

Also worth considering; ''Hard to get someone to change their mind, when their pay-cheque, depends on them not changing it.''

For instance; ''Coughs and sneezes spread diseases.''

Can I sign up my sister?  She's suffered a rather debilitating stroke and would probably fit right in. She needs to have more friends more equally incapacitated.  Her current co-residents keep scamming her out of her desserts.

The usual trying to dismiss a view  with one that is less excepted and more ridiculed  to try and ridicule the  first view  I'm sure there is some fancy name for such a strategy ??

That alone makes him a whacko according to cultists. If he or she are not Youtube influencers then they are not credible.

The false equivalence fallacy: A and B have one shared characteristic and therefore A equals B.
